Hahaha. It's ok, I caught myself most times, it's just funny 'cause I kept doing it. Fun to talk Spidey-Stuff, hard with so much going on in each line/series to not dive in deeper. Haha.
Hah well we can break it up even more in the future. Maybe just follow up and movies next episode and limit it to 1-2 series going forward (or even just specific stories in the long runs). There's plenty to keep us busy for a while. Or until we want a Spidey break haha.
Yep. It was one of the many one-shots released under Amalgam Comics, which was a 1 or 2 year brand the companies collaborated on in the 90s, imagining various Marvel and DC properties mixed together.
Lol Julia and Kate's Creepy Villain Bingo in Batwoman was the best. This still isn't the most interesting story, especially compared to recent Batwoman outings, but it's still really good. Really tremendous Green Lanterns this week. Jessica was sooo bad ass in training. They continue to strike a good balance between her being exceedingly bad ass, yet still struggling with her anxieties. Some of the series best artwork too, I especially loved the flashbacks. And that last page is something I've wanted to happen since I started reading Green Lantern, ha. Once more, Jessica is the best. First Issue of Injustice 2 is awesome. Glad that Taylor is back. And Harley Quinn as Robin is probably the greatest idea ever.
I don't know anything about Mister Miracle, but with King at the helm, I'll definitely check this out.
hell yeah this looks awesome Exclusive: BOOM! Announces Comic About Vinyl-Loving Teen Vigilantes, Hi-Fi Fight Club by Carly Usdin & Nina Vakueva
Decided to read a little bit of my pile, which has started to build up a tad. Having a twice-monthly comic on my pull (Superman) lets me really see how far behind I am (had 3 issues of it in my pile, lol). These last three issues of Superman were good. I really dug the reveal at the end of the latest issue that Manchester Black is the villain of this story. That Lois injury was intense. Bummer that this arc, which I think is the first real 6-issue arc since the beginning of the series, has to be only half illustrated by Gleason, since the two more recent issues felt visually weak in comparison. I would almost rather that Gleason stick to illustrating shorter arcs and skip longer ones altogether, since being forced to compare him to the other artist just isn't fair. The most recent issue of Avengers was a blast. The Phil Noto art (apparently partially colored by regular artist Del Mundo?) was cool, and the dynamic with Nadia Pym Wasp and Doom Iron Man was a lot of fun. Some nice banter in this one. Apparently the writer of the Wasp series, Jeremy Whitley, cowrote this one with Waid, which makes me a little curious as to how that series is. Newest issue of Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows was another fun one. It was neat seeing some of these X-Men characters in more classic iterations, though I'm really bummed Conway didn't use Storm. Anyways, next issue seemingly will have MJ don the Venom symbiote, which could be a fun story.
I just realized there was a comic thread! Just picked up the latest in the Amory wars series. I really need to get back up on some new comics, besides that, I haven't picked up anything in a while.
I decided to pull out my Fourth World Omnibuses and get lost in Kirby land. It is such a glorious place to be. Jack Kirby was at DC for 5 years and is responsible for so much that I love. Give me more Etrigan, DC!
Second trade of Justice League was somehow worse than the first. lol Does it get better? Please say it does.
Yeah, that looked bad. I read the first issue of his run and found it pretty awful. It is too bad. JL should be the flagship. :/
Based on what I read of Justice League, I think Hitch just needs a co-writer to refine his work. Transitioning from artist to writer by writing a large-scale twice-monthly Justice League series probably wasn't the best idea.
Also, Batman #23 was awesome. The Brave and the Mold got a chuckle. But that was a really intense issue. King is really putting an awesome stamp on this book. It reminds me of when Brubaker took over DD from Bendis.
Have you read any of the previous ones? If so, how are they? I have some trades but I've yet to read them
I have, I read both the Second Stage & In Keeping Secrets ones. Second Stage is a little strange, it seems to jump around a little too much and some things aren't explained very well. With IKS though, they definitely improved everything and I really enjoyed it.
Where does the New 52 "start" for Batman? Preferably the volumes not individual comics. Is Court of Owls the first New 52 story for Batman or are there other New 52 Batman stories before this?
