Chiming in a little late on the whole "numbering" conversation. In 2011, when DC was rebooting its entire line under the "New 52" mantra, I was at San Diego Comic Con and during the DC panel, I went to the mic and asked Dan Didio essentially this exact question. I asked, basically, "given the mission statement of the New 52, to bring new readers with fresh #1's so that they aren't scared off by continuity, and given that in five years, your books will already by at issue #60, thus putting right back where you started, has there been any thought to adopting a system akin to TV shows, or even the European style of have Volume numbers?" And his pithy response was "We publish monthly comics. We have always published monthly comics. So we are going to keep doing what we are doing. We haven't given any thought to doing it any other way."
Comixology is doing a sale on Jonathan Hickman's FANTASTIC FOUR run. It comes with my highest recommendation.
Hmm. Six volumes for $35 seems like a great deal. And seems like a cheap way to get a collection started. Hmm. These are actual books right? Not digital purchases? For some reason I thought Comixology was mostly just digital downloads.
No, it is only digital. You are getting digital copies of each volume. Comixology does not sell physical copies. You were correct haha.
Another comic book related episode this week on Geekdom! Welcome To Geekdom Episode 031: Darth Vader Vol. 1
@xapplexpiex is it cool to invite some folks here to the group? I've wanted to invite some folks, but wasn't sure if I should ask first.

forgot that today is the last part of the button. i need to head to the shop and pick that up for sure.
Decided to pick up all 4 issues of The Button today. Was gonna wait for a discounted trade, but about $11 (after my 10% subscriber discount) isn't likely much more than what I'll be able to pay later. With my excitement for Doomsday Clock, might as well read this related story, even though the stars aren't as cool as Superman. At least I got the Tim Sale Batman covers.
I was gonna say "even though it stars a couple lesser Justice Leaguers," but I decided that wouldn't be fair... ...to Barry.
Here are some things I have caught up on lately. Black Road 1-5: Brian Wood does such an awesome job telling period stories. Northlanders and Rebels were incredible books. I really appreciate the time and effort he put into researching time periods, and that he can still tell compelling stories within those periods. The Old Guard 2: It is still a little early, but Rucka has thrown a nice little wrinkle into the story that has me intrigued to see where we go from here. The coloring of this book also stands out. Top notch stuff. Briggs Land 1-2: Some more Brian Wood. His best work seems to fall into two categories: political stories and period pieces. This is the former. Picking up on the story of the Bundy clan in Oregon, this tells the story of a family of militant seccessionists who are dealing with regime change at the top of the household. Two issues in, the stage is set and the players are known, I look forward to seeing how this plays out.
