I read the first 4 issues, I believe, and the book had no real identity. But I love the idea of a super powered Lana.
I don't think the Slott status quo is going anywhere, but the great thing about Spider-Man is that he has always fit into a wide range of stories quite organically. He's just as at home as Iron Man as he is as Daredevil.
Definitely. Spider-Man is one of those characters that i can push through even when i don't love what they are doing, but when they gave us Spidey, i loved having that to read as well. and I'm excited to have this other run to read now. I like Miles Morales Spider-Man, but truthfully not as much as i did pre secret wars.
Spawn is... eventually. Todd McFarlane has been working for a while on a script that he plans to direct for a low-budget R-rated film, lol.
just ordered American Born Chinese by Gene Luen Yang. looks cool, and i think i want to pick up new superman vol 1 when it comes out.
Since I don't think I ever finalized all the WW Further Reading assignments: @Vivatoto - True Amazon @Deanna - George Perez vol. 1 @Dodge725 - Rebirth vol. 1 @scottlechowicz - Earth One @Henry - New 52 vol. 1 Blurbs due Monday, May 29th (the Monday of the week WW comes out). Does this look good? If you're good with this, or if you're not, let me know. We're only a few weeks away! Also, @Jason Tate, how do you think the last one went? Should we go back to posting on the following Monday (like we did for Logan), or is that Friday (like GOTG) better?
I agree with this, but I would be screwed without digital and don't have the patience to trade wait. I still have all of my floppies from when I was ages 6-14 and I'll prob hoard them forever. It really sucks not having an LCS :(
Going to this next weekend. GUESTS Gonna shoot to meet Snyder, Capullo, O'Malley, Chung, Chu, Wu, Maclean, Chiang, Tynion, and McPherson. Also gonna send a message to @Tim from Nick Spencer.
Definitely. And I don't have the shelf space or real estate. All my old books are all sitting in boxes at my mom's place cause of it. I think book-books are the only thing I've found I really need/want to have, I don't like reading book-books on the iPad, so I'll buy/library those. But music, tv, movies, comic books ... totally found that I'm ok going digital for convenience.
Yup. Honestly, digital probably saved my comic book reading. With a full time job and getting married, it was going to be difficult to head to an LCS every week, or convince my wife to house my giant comics collection in our current apartment where space is a premium. My goal now is to make a physical purchases an event. I only buy vinyl if it is a beloved album. I only buy a HC if the book is on my all-time list, etc. And that works just fine for me. Though I do miss going my routine of going to the LCS and grabbing my books, shooting the shit, and then going to a diner and reading my haul. But that's probably as much about "nostalgia" for my old life as anything.
Oh man, I'd love to meet Wu and/or Chiang, and maybe get a sketch from one of them if they offer it. Also, you should tell Spencer that an aspiring pastor you know says he's a jackass.
I kind of love it. I have so many serious internal debates with myself about what is or is not purchase worthy. I feel like Elaine and her last few sponges.
