Yeah, I think it went a step too far. I think the coloring played a part in that as well. The palate was oppressively colorful at times, which made it hard to distinguish action. That said, the covers were spectacular. Especially #7. The upside down Image "I" was a stroke of genius.
lol. You seeing that movie 6 times by yourself sounds awesome and hilarious. But, really, you should see if @Deanna will let you on her podcast to talk about the movie. Between personal connection, relationship to past films, contrast to recent iterations, maybe some brief Rebirth talk, etc., you could probably have a lot of cool stuff to say. To be fair, we already knew your tastes were trash.
Double posting because why not? Marvel does these big "History of" posts for various characters. Naturally, I write down the reading orders for them and never actually start them. But they've started on Spidey and I thought this would interest some of you. Follow the History of Spider-Man Pt. 1
I'm still baffled by the fact that anyone listens to me talk about anything at all, so why not? Haha. Shoot me a PM if you are interested, though. We can definitely set something up. I'd even rewatch the movie for it (maybe).
Decided to post my current collection of trades. Took me a while to remember to post this. Sadly, I had to give a bunch of stuff away when I moved a few years ago. I had about 60 trades that I donated to charity. Oversized HCs Marvel & Some Valiant Assorted HCs HCs & Records Vertigo & Some IMAGE DC My current figures on display. It rotates, because i have too many action figures haha.
Hmmm I'm somewhat tempted. I dont really have time unless I did it in my lunch break or something. Also I'm nervous and don't have recording equipment
The above conversation is really funny to me 'cause it was @scottlechowicz, not @Colby Searcy, that I suggested for @Deanna's podcast (to talk about Superman Returns). I mean, I still would like to hear Colby on the podcast. I wanna hear all of us on it. But, he's not the one I suggested. lol.
i knew that's what you were getting at. Would love to hear both of them on there. I know I've got a Bat-ally in Colby, for whatever that's worth lol u @Colby Searcy
I was a big fan. I bought the single issues and those little tiny digest and then they went and released it as a HC and I was like "well, damn gonna have to buy it again." It's very teen angst-y. But not in a cloying sort of way. Kind of like The OC or shows like that. Or the Archie books. But with Spider-Man. I had a great time with it. I miss Sean McKeever as a writer.
I greatly prefer college Peter to high school Peter, which is part of why I've dragged my feet on it, but I've thought about pulling the trigger a lot recently. The interpersonal side of Lee/Romita's ASM era is why it's my favorite era, so in a way, it seems like the perfect series for me to really enjoy, lol.
HAHA. I promise you guys that I can read... @scottlechowicz and @Colby Searcy are both welcome on the podcast!
Came across this Adrian Alphona variant cover for that Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane series. Dang. Adrian Alphona is so good.
Well, I've never done a podcast before, but I think I'd be up for trying. Not even sure how it works haha. Skype?
Yep, I record over Skype. And if you can't record on your end, I can pull the Skype audio. So all you really need other than that is a pair of headphones.
Just read volumes 2 and 3 of Old Man Logan and it's so good. I loved these two even more than the first volume.
Finally all caught up on Amazing Spidey. I liked the Clone Conspiracy stuff more than I thought I would. Still not sold on Peter "Bruce Wayne" Parker, but it's been a good read and I'm gonna stay with it.
