Yep! Ramos has some ugly looking stuff for sure but for the most part i really like his art. It's the opposite for Frank. I really like some things he does but i don't like his art as a whole, mainly the faces. I don't like anything about Tim Sale's art.
*checks calendar* Man, Opposite Day came early this year. But, really, I may never forgive you for hating Tim Sale, who's a top 5 artist of mine, while liking Ramos, my least favorite prominent Spider-Man. It hurts my head and my heart the way only differing nerd opinions can. At least you love Bachalo and Pichelli, who are in the same top tier of Spider-Man artists for me as Sale.
One reason I've enjoyed the new Superman series so much is the relationship with his family. And the threat of losing his son during Reborn was very gripping, IMO. The emotional stakes were handled so well.
She's in my top tier, along with John Romita Sr, Tim Sale, Chris Bachalo, Charles Vess, and Todd McFarlane.
Just got a bunch of trades and stuff from my uncle. Mostly xmen stuff. Lmk if you guys have read any of these and which ones are the best: X-Men: Mutant Massacre X-Men: Fall of the Mutants X-Men: Inferno X-Men: X-Tinction Agenda Uncanny X-Men: Rise & Fall of the Shi'ar Empire X-Men: Prelude to Schism X-Men: Schism The Avengers: Living Legends Marvel Omnibus: Atlantis Attacks Uncanny X-Men: The Extremists X-Men: Messiah Complex X-Force/Cable: Messiah War X-Men: Second Coming X-Men: Endangered Species Then I've got some single issue stuff I haven't sorted through yet. As only a casual comics fan, this certainly fills my comics itch for awhile. Are any of these good? Are any bad?
There's an awesome Spider-Man print for sale rn: Spider-Man Vs. Doctor Octopus Regular Edition by Chris Thornley
I didn't even read all of last week's DC stuff that I follow yet. Feeling forever behind on things right now.
is anyone reading any of the young animal books? thinking i want to pick up doom patrol and shade when the first trades come out.
I read the first issue of Doom Patrol. It was a lot more...measured in its pacing from what I expected. I am going to need to sit down and read it again with a little more focus. But I definitely think I will check out most of those books at some point. The covers are just awesome, though. For all those books, really.
I'll read all of them when they come out as trades. Really like the look of all of them from what I've seen.
I've been reading Shade and enjoying it a lot. It's totally wild and out there, but the art is such a delight, and I think there's just enough of a character foundation to keep the weirdest parts just anchored enough, at least for me.
The one I am most interested in, beyond Doom Patrol, is actually Cave Carson. The cover for this week's issue was amazing. But my biggest source of frustration with those books is the $3.99 price point.
So this "New Age of DC Superheroes" rebranding sounds like it could be a lot like "Heroes Reborn." I sure hope it isn't, haha. EDIT: Oops, looks like I misread the conceit. It appears that DC is letting Capullo, JRJR, and Andy Kubert create new Superheroes for the DCU. Interesting.

I'll be doing a podcast on Marvel Unlimited in about an hour. Anything you'd like me to cover/mention during it?
