Gonna read a bit when I get home. I'll let you know how it is. It's Scott Snyder and Batman so I know it will be great.
What's the art situation? I know romita was doing a handful of issues. Is it one artist per arc or does it switch more often than that?
Funny enough I was going to mention how much I love what they are doing with the covers, but I didn't want to say anything that would tempt you to look, haha.
Most of my stuff is digital but I'm in the same boat. I'm finally reading Seven to Eternity at work right now haha shouts out to @scottlechowicz for inspiring me to move that to the front of my 'to read' queue
I love shoutouts. I have read through issue #4 at this point. If nothing else, that book is just drop dead gorgeous to look at. Opena and Hollingsworth make pretty pictures. I also love the trade dress / covers. Including the credits, etc. at the bottom looks so cool. Like an old school movie poster, almost.
You can't get much better than Rick Remender, Jerome Opena and Matt Hollingsworth. Very excited to see where that book goes.
My only to-read pile is my pull list, which is I think about a half dozen or so issues deep, but I should be able to catch up on that by the time I pick up this week and next week's pull next Wednesday. I'm pretty content with my current pace. I've just accepted that most of the trades I buy will sit forever before I actually read 'em, lol. I'm very whim-based when it comes to both buying and reading, but that works just fine for me. Haven't been reading much recently outside of old Spider-Man lately anyways.
i love that the covers look like movie posters. I'm halfway through the third issue and the story has already got its hooks in me. and yes, drop dead gorgeous is the only way to describe the art.
It still hasn't reached the highs of Low, Deadly Class, or Black Science for me. But I am curious enough to continue for a bit. More than anything, I am surprised by how damn prolific Remender has become. The man is just pumping out series after series at IMAGE. I love it.
Yeah but we're only four issues in. I think i like it as much as I did Black Science after the first trade of that.
If nothing else, Remender is a pro at grabbing my attention right out of the gate. I haven't read a single book of his that took me time to get into or appreciate.
Couldn't get through the last Red Lantern book. I now understand what you guys were talking about. Couldn't really care about Guy and the New Gods.
Fuck Remender for getting me emotionally invested in characters only to kill them and somehow bring them back. I think Low is the only book where the characters stay dead. lol
