@Adrian Villagomez, I see that you're here now. Did you see that in the fall, DC is launching a Blue Beetle series with Rebirth? I know you dig the character.

 

Totally just realized I said Talking Comics is the only comic podcast I listen to, but that was a lie hah. I also listen to This Week In Marvel which covers basically all Marvel news including the comics out each week and what's new on Marvel Unlimited. And I listen to Women of Marvel, but that doesn't tend to cover the comics specifically too often.

 

Oh, nice. I do love me some Blue Beetle. I heard Netflix is considering another season of Young Justice. That would make me very happy.

 

I've been listening to TWIM for years. I love those dudes.

 

Yeah it's a good one to listen to especially since I seem to keep up with Marvel comics more. Some episodes can get long, but I love the interviews they do as the .5 episodes.

 

I'm excited for some Blue Beetle.

 

Also - do you guys buy a hard copy or just buy them through the App on your iPad?

Only buy hard copy. I'm a big collector and buying digital doesn't satisfy that for me. Also I like to support my local comic shop. Last reason is that if I don't like a book I can resell it to at least get something back from it.

 

I'll grab first issues in digital form and then, if I really like it, I pick up the trade.

Is Ultimate Collection start from his origin or is it like Essential Daredevil comics?

 

I'm excited for the new arc in the Wicked and the Divine.

Just finished Saga vol. 5, Sex Criminals vol. 2 and Blacksad vol. 4. Sorry, I didn't read through all 20 pages to see if there's any talk on any of those. Blacksad may end up being my favorite comic. Certainly up there already.

 

When Marvel collects a certain series/run, they'll sometimes do an "Ultimate Collection" version, with trades bigger than usual. So, for example, this is the third and final volume of the Brian Michael Bendis Daredevil Ultimate Collection.

I don't know much about either yet, but Killing and Dying is a very well-regarded indie graphic novel, and Mercury is a graphic novel by Hope Larson, who's making the jump to the Big 2 with the DC Rebirth Batgirl series. (They didn't arrive yet, but I also got another Hope Larson graphic novel and something by Gene Luen Yang, who's doing New Super-Man.) I'm trying to spend more time with indie stuff 'cause I've been too superhero-centric since getting back into comics a couple years ago.

 

Ahh that's awesome. Please let me know how Mercury is if you get around to it anytime soon. I'm excited about Batgirl.

Marvel will be releasing a 4-issue miniseries this summer called CIVIL WAR II: KINGPIN.

Probably gonna trade-wait for this, but looks pretty cool.

Just picked up Hawkeye and Ms Marvel today! Going to get Black Panther tomorrow.

Interested in the whole Avengers saga you mentioned next (after enjoying these).

 

My collection isn't very big at this point but I'm still curious as to how everyone keeps track of their collections. Is there an app similar to Discogs for comics?

 

I usually just keep mine in a spreadsheet.

 

That's what I'll likely do since I already have a Google one with lists of comics I've read, a MU reading list, and other comics I want to read. May as well add a new sheet for my collection.
