Have a copy lying in my bookshelf in the office but never got around to it. Haha. I read the first few pages though and I found it adorable. My main comic right now is new Archie. Also enjoying Max's The Worst X-man.
I only read the first issue of Archie, has it gotten better(loved the first issue). Also have you checked out the revamp of Jughead?
Only the first 3 issues were drawn by Fiona Staples (and up until now I still think those 3 have the best illustrations), but I don't see the story running out of steam soon. I love their versions of everyone so far. One issue I'm rooting for Betty but then another one comes and suddenly there's a part of me that would sympathize with Ronnie despite her being the rich girl who seems to have everything. And not even once did I feel like they're taking themselves too seriously. It's still the gang we know and love. PS also every issue has at least 3 variant covers so I'm always excited for every release since I get to pick the cover I want the most. Made an exception and bought 2 covers for #1 just because
I finally caught up on Archie this week and still really enjoy the story. Miss Staples' art, but oh well.
I feel like I missed something obvious with the caterpillar joke. Is that supposed to be a symbol for something?
I thought it was a really cool story. I guess you could say it's predictable, but still genuinely creepy and fun to read. Also, the art's great and it's $6 on Amazon right now.
Yeah the $6 price tag is mostly the reason I'm thinking of getting it. I guess you can't go wrong with some good Jock art.
I'll admit, I'm not entirely sure. I just saw it as a sort of framing device to bring the story back to him on occasion since Archie isn't really the focus of this particular issue. Could be way off. Haha.
I've got an Amazon gift card to kill. Would like some advice. Should I go with The Fade Out or East of West? I want a series that's already a few volumes in.
Ahhh I could not get into Trees. I think I read the first 5 issues or so? Let me know what you think.
@alexstolar was ranting about it at work so I figured I'd give it a go. I've always been an Ellis fan, so that helped too.
Silver Surfer was soooo dope. Probably the next two Marvel titles I'm going to start to read are Squirrel Girl and (no clue, will figure it out. I just wanna read as much cool stuff as possible) Also does anyone have any recommendations to throw at me for Dr. Strange? I love him as a character but I haven't read much and I really would like to change that.
The go to Dr. Stange books are usually Triumph and Torment, The Oath, and Don't Pay the Ferryman. I admittedly haven't read a ton either. Howard the Duck is great if you love SG.
I saw the Oath the other day... I'll probably grab that. Thanks. Is it a standalone story of part of a run? Haha I'm actually slowly making my way through Howards Complete Collection Volume 1. I probably won't pull on the new run of Howard yet though because I'd like to read something Marvel with action and more "serious". I'll probably grab the new Howard one day when I'm just at Barnes and Nobles or my comic shop just in the mood for that. It's not something I'm going to make an effort to really follow when the novel comes out.
Hmmm it's been awhile since I've read it. The first few issues were a bit confusing, but once you get into it I think it reads pretty well and you should be fine!
@Henry @GettingSodas I haven't read my copy yet, but I must throw out there that Doctor Strange: Year One by Greg Pak and Emma Rios is essential because, well, Emma Rios. I plan on reading Year One, then The Oath, then Triumph and Torment in the month before the film comes out.
You're welcome. Obviously taste is subjective, but hopefully you like at least some of that as much as I do!
