super excited about this. just starting Invincible finally tonight, just grabbed The Underwater Welder. Also, anyone know of any rad Godzilla or King Kong comics? just watched the last Godzilla and I'm super stoked for Kong coming up.
Did anyone ever read that Godzilla in Hell book? I remember thinking it sounded interesting but I didn't check it out and never read any Godzilla for that matter.
Lol, The Flash in front of Belle Reve "I spent some time behind these walls recently," "when did that happen?" "a few Wednesdays ago"
In addition to my pull from the past two weeks, I decided to grab All-New Wolverine #13-18 and the All-New X-Men MU one-shot (which is pretty Laura-heavy). I dropped ANW after the second arc 'cause, as much as I adored the first arc, what came after was pretty... meh. After seeing Logan and thinking a lot about how much I love Laura as a character, though, I had to catch up. So, that's what I'm about to read. Hope it's good. Also, just read the first two parts of "Superman Reborn." Superman is the only DC title I actively care about right now, so this crossover didn't really tickle my fancy when it was announced, but the fake Clark reveal was really cool. I'm digging this story thus far.
It is. The whole story kinda feels like a mess regardless. I have a attack of trades right now that is mostly Marvel books. I don't know why i have such a lack of interest in almost all of them.
Anti-Marvel nonsense is so tiresome anymore, lol. Bendis dropped the ball with CW2. Soule and Lemire dropped the ball with all the Inhuman/X-Men stuff they've done. Spencer is a douchebag. The rest of Marvel's output is good to great. What's in your stack?
A lot of it has been there for a while. Right now, the stack is something like: Birthright 3/4 Harley Quinn 3/4/5/Gang of Harleys ODY-C 2 Tokyo Ghost 2 X-Men Inferno 1/2 Wonder Woman 9/Rebirth 1 Action Comics 1 Gotham Central 1 Captain Marvel 2 Ultimates 1/2 A Force 2 Howard the Duck 2 Hellcat 2 With these on the way: Dini's Zatanna Suicide Squad 1 East of West 2/3 They're Not Like Us 2 Zelda is really screwing up my reading.
Why do you keep buying Harley Quinn, with how much you complain about their iteration of the character? lol. And, I'm surprised you haven't finished Howard the Duck yet. He's an obnoxious douche with a lot of really annoying opinions, which has bled into his Captain America work. I'm in the minority who thinks brainwashed Hydra Cap vs Sam Wilson Cap could be a really cool story, but I'm too tired of Spencer to have any interest in Secret Empire.
Well, I'm caught up on All-New Wolverine now. Enemy of the State was a good, well-written story building off of Laura's history, but man, this title's revolving door of artists has NOT had a success since David Lopez killed it on the first arc. I think the 13 issues (including an annual) since Lopez finished up have had like 5 artists, but for whatever reason, none of them have clicked. Here's hoping the next one is an improvement.
I love the character a lot. Most of it is just an effort to have all of her books. I also have this faith that it will magically turn around and stop being awful. Though after reading even a little bit of her Starfire series, I have almost no faith that it'll happen. lol Right now the only thing I don't have is Gotham Sirens.
I've never seen anything he's says or fine so I guess I don't really know what your talking about hah!
Let me know how Dini's Zatanna is! Since my LCS is closing, he hasn't been getting any new trades/issues for the last few weeks so I didn't get a chance to pick it up.
I know you didn't ask me but I loved Zee so damn much! That book really got me into comics originally.
More reading: America #1 was fun. It had to do some heavy lifting, since Miss America Chavez is a relatively new character who's really only been explored in the context of ensembles, but while I have no idea where it's going, I'm down for the ride. The art is delightful. Avengers #5 was yet another issue full of gorgeous art and crazy time travel nonsense. I loved seeing these different eras of Avengers team up on this weird, fun mission. Just one issue left in the Kang storyline! I'm curious as to how this ends, and also in whether or not the next storyline will be as wild as this one has been. Clone Conspiracy Omega was a nice finale to the event. I loved the interaction between Spidey and Rhino. I don't get why they made this an "Omega" one-shot instead of just making it an additional issue in the miniseries, but that's a silly thing to get caught up on. As much as I hate the costume Reilly is gonna have in the first arc of Scarlet Spider, I'm definitely curious as to how that series is gonna go. Got a lot more to read (including Paper Girls and Hawkeye!), which I'll probably get to tonight.
The newest Paper Girls is so so good. I need to catch up on my other stuff but fell down the Zelda hole.
All y'all gamers. I'm glad I only passingly enjoy video games so that my free time (and money) can be more fully dedicated to comics, lol.
Read Batman: Ego and Other Stories and Superman: Secret Origin today. Then checked out JLA: A League of One and Batman: The Widening Gyre not realizing I should read Cacophony first. Oops.
