So Peter J. Tomasi is gonna be in Midtown Comics in NYC signing Super Sons #1 and Superman Rebirth Vol 1. I'm super tempted to go buy both and get em signed.

So I went back to my LCS that is closing down to grab Doom Patrol Book 2 (and I told myself that's all I'd grab), but someone beat me to it. So naturally I bought 4 trades. First two volumes of Nailbiter, Catwoman Vol. 1 by Cooke, and Green Lantern: Secret Origin. Been trying to not just buy Batman books as of late. May go back before he closes at the end of the month. He still has a lot of stuff for only having about 2 weeks left before closing.
Snagged the last variant copy at my shop. If they had had another I'd have grabbed it for you. Apologies.
I had to not buy so many trades from my LCS so I feel this. I probably shouldn't have even bought 4 as it was haha.
Scooby Doo Apocalypse is fucking DENSE. So much dialog without saying much of anything. Lots and lots of repeat. Some really fun fan service though. Scrappy is great. Read the first trade of Hal and the Corps. Liked it a lot more that the post-Johns era stuff. Didn't read any of the renegade or Corp/Lost Army stuff, so I'm somewhat lost with the back story.
I am grabbing thats Snotgirl for the poster. Even though I already have all the singles. Just read Archie 16/17. Still my favorite ongoing. Given, I haven't been reading a lot lately. Not having to worry about anyone dying or ridiculous plot twists. And I get my. coming-of-age fix. win win. I want to live in Riverdale.
Haha yeah. I cringe every two minutes, but the fact that this show exists intrigues me a lot. They've made the characters so different. Have you?
I love it so much! Favorite show currently airing! I'm new to the Archie universe having only read the new series but the show matches so well and I live every second of it!
after reading the amazing monthlies by Mark Waid I just can't help but wish we got like a Riverdale show on freeform just like the comic. that would've been amazing. having said that, I haven't watch the show yet, definitely some shows ahead on the list before I get to that.
If that's what you're expecting than you won't be disappointed, its pretty close to what that would be like.
Went back to return some library books and they had a mini con going on there. Thankfully all I bought was a cool $5 print and not a ton of comics haha. But I did check out Superman: Brainiac, Superman: Secret Origin, and Batman: Ego and Other Tales. Stoked to check those all out.
Um... Apparently Valiant Comics is partnering with Warped Tour? What the literal heck? Their characters are gonna be featured in promotional stuff, and creators will be on some of the stops. On one hand, combining comics and music is cool. On the other hand, I don't care much about Valiant, and Warped Tour is garbage run by garbage. Still, if this helps get more people into comics, that at least will be neat.
I actually just started diving in and XO Manowar is really great. I was just testing the waters and got a little addicted.
