I think they were going for something big and crazy like Grant Morrison they just didn't have any of his talent. I enjoyed it though.
Did the follow up story make more sense? This just felt really disjointed and had way too much going on. All of the characters being in different places without a common enemy/goal just really confused me. The end all coming together in the last few pages seemed a bit convoluted too.
Yeah I'd say they go the opposite way and tell a fairly bland straight forward story for the second two arcs. The first one is them (in different places, again) fighting their own fears but at least there's some fun romance stuff with Barry and Jessica.
Jessica is very much the highlight of this entire Rebirth thing that I absolutely love. Her anxiety and hesitation are something that super hero books lack, as a whole.
Yep she's probably my favorite hero at the moment, did you read the most recent Green Lanterns issue? It was all about her dealing with anxiety and the fact that she'll never really "get over it" which was something that I was worried about.
I haven't read it yet, but I've heard it discussed a lot. Might pick that up next time I go to the shop.
I initially enjoyed Justice League for what it was, but eventually I had to give up. It reminded me of that Bendis GOTG arc after Venom and Captain Marvel joined the team: Lots of characters all over the place doing random things that don't add up to a solid whole.
I got kill or be killed vol.1 the other day, looking forward to reading it. Heard nothing but good things about kill or be killed.
Just finished reading Severed. I haven't read too many horror comics and I really enjoyed it. My next two read will be the Joker and American Vampire Vol. 1. Finally getting to these since I borrowed them from a friend. From Hell will take a little bit longer to get through so I'm saving that for last.
Nice, I plan to read wytches at some point. I've not read any horror comics to be honest but I love horror movies so seems strange that I've never got round to it.
Big comic sale today. Got lots of New Mutants, Generation X, Storm, Wolverine, Catwoman, and other stuff I needed. Always a good time. Also got and just read the Killer Frost one shot leading into JLA. I didn't read JLvSS and won't be reading JLA, but I love Caitlin Snow on The Flash and left like getting a taste of her current comics counterpart. The story was nothing special, but I do think she's a cool (pun not intended but fully embraced) character who could really shine if given the chance. In a weird way, she reminds me of Poison Ivy in terms of underutilized antihero star potential. (Poison Ivy has been showing up a lot lately, which is cool, but I still want a sequel to last year's miniseries.) Plus, Caitlin's hair was super cute in this.
I have that but it's one of the ones my friend borrowed from me so I'll be waiting to get to it haha.
So based on that DC Rebirth spread of the heroes being "reborn" back when rebirth wa starting, the only ones featured that are still MIA are: Martian Manhunter Firestorm Shazam and the Marvel Family Etrigan Zatanna Some generic tough guy in a yellow shirt in the bottom left corner And Bumblebee, who I'm fairly certain is heading to Titans based on Titan Hunt and future solicits. Anyone have any idea where the rest of them are going to show up? None of them seem appropriate for the inevitable JSA or Legion books. If I had to make optimistic guesses, I'd say: MM and Firestorm end up on a third JL-esque team with the recently featured Captain Atom, Hawkman, and Adam Strange. The latter characters have recently been given excellent mini-series that strangely were not under the Rebirth banner and have been completely under the radar. Zatanna and Etrigon end up on a rebooted Justice League Dark: Rebirth, thanks to the success of the new animated movie, with Swamp Thing popping up at random right now with no home, and Deadman being given that same weird non-Rebirth mini-series treatment. And of course the constantly growing in popularity Constantine. This one seems the most likely. The absence of Shazam seems really weird given how large a presence he had in the New 52, and even in Darkseid War. So I'm assuming he finally gets that solo book that's been talked about forever and it Rebirths the all the other Marvel family characters, especially with all this talk of the Shazam and Black Adam movie business. Those are my guesses. Can't predict who the guy on the bottom left is. Rick Flag? Max Lord? Who knows. Anyone else have any guesses??? http://oyster.ignimgs.com/wordpress/stg.ign.com/2016/05/REBIRTH-splash.jpg
Have gone a bit graphic novel crazy recently. Recent purchases, will dive into once I've finished scale by Keith Buckley (Every Time I Die) highly recommend also. Just need DK III master race book 4 to finish my hardcover collectors editions (until book 8 comes out) heard great things about kill or be killed, as well as nailbiter and all hail megatron is another that I've heard really great things about.
Cool. Not heard a bad word against it to be honest. Look forward to getting into it. I finished city of owls the other day. Need to pick up death of the family next
Really enjoy Nailbiter and stoked for the next/last volumes to come out! They've hinted at so much and I need to the know the big/ridiculous answer haha Really good if you're into pulpy, horror movies if anyone's interested.
On Image's website they have issue 30 listed as the series finale "EXTRA-SIZED SERIES FINALE. Sixteen of the world’s serial killers were born and raised in the same small town… And now the horrible truth of why is finally revealed."
