That's actually reasonable. I'm expecting about $1000-1500 a piece for the next 2 I want so you can imagine why it's taking so long. The most I've paid so far for a tattoo is $300 and that was for a giant piece on my side and that was probably less than should've been due to my artist being slow at tattooing
lol. Did I talk about this in the AP.net days? I still have the issue of not having a church ministry job yet and wanting to get my foot in the door before pulling the trigger. The fewer potential roadblocks for church elders, the better. But, yeah, I'd love to get a 60s Romita Spider-Man tattoo someday!
Haha yep sure did! Surprised you wouldn't want Miles now too. Figured I'd get an update since I turned this into the tattoo thread. @Henry has some comics related ones I know, planning on any more?
If I were more adventurous, I'd get a whole Spider-Man sleeve, but I don't think I'd personally want a full sleeve. If I did get additional characters, I'd probably throw in Miles, classic Scarlet Spider, Silk, Agent Venom, and/or classic 2099.
Reading the second Black Canary trade and getting bummed out. The book just isn't that interesting without Annie Wu doing the interior.
Read Deadly Class Vol. 1 today and really enjoyed it. Will be podcasting about it on Friday! The episode will be up in a week or two.
I had downloaded it years ago but was never able to commit. It's something is really love to do at some point.
Just did an advance review of Loose Ends by Jason Latour. Just some minor plot in here, so I wouldn't say there are really any spoilers unless you want to know absolutely nothing about the comic going into it. Loose Ends #1 Advance Review | Comic Book Blog | Talking Comics
That's Sophie Campbell, who's illustrated Jem and the Holograms and some other stuff. She started her career as Ross Campbell before coming out as transgender, hence the joke. (There also seems to be some random discussion on Twitter over how to break into comics? Which is also part of what spurred the joke.)
Ohhhh. That's cool. I won't pretend to understand twitter. Jem is pretty great tho. I've admittedly fallen very behind on it.
I'm catching up some and just read Kill or Be Killed #3. Brubaker has people writing essays in the back of these issues... and this one was by Devin Faraci on the film I Spit On Your Grave. Faraci, for those who don't know, is a movie writer who tweeted about Trump when the Access Hollywood tape leaked, and then was promptly called out by women who said he sexually assaulted them. He then stepped down from his website. Seeing him write about a rape victim revenge story in light of those accusations was a little uncomfortable, to say the least. I'm sure the article was selected way before the accusations, but still super unfortunate.
I actually haven't read beyond the first arc yet, but I really wanna read that third arc, Dark Jem. Looks so cool. Funny enough, I have the recently launched spinoff series The Misfits on my pull and even have Jenn St-Onge's art from the series as my avatar, lol. It's like if Jem were fronted by Emma Frost in the best way.
Whoever the colorist is for Nighthawk gets an A+ from me. Looks a ton like the New 52 Batman. Almost to the point where I thought this character was just a Talon.
