I think I love the second volume more than the first because of what they explore which is teased in the first volume. It's top notch and Gabriel Ba's art is incredible.
Really dig the slightly tweaked Superman Rebirth costume. At this point, it's essentially just a classic Superman outfit minus the red undies. Glad they've kept those off while also phasing out almost all of the awkward little New 52 details.
There's been some news on the Watchmen stuff. First it's going to be a crossover between The Flash and Batman titled The Button. Then they're going to start a Countdown. Then that Geoff Johns project.
The second ups the zaniness in the best way. Hope you dig it! Either in an interview, blog post, or letter at the end of a Young Animal title (not sure which), Gerard Way said he's working on a third volume!
Have you read Mother Panic on Young Animal? If it's anything along those lines (i.e., batshit [no pun intended] vigilante noir), that'd be an immediate pull haha.
Gerard was working on some Batman stuff a while ago but I don't think he's doing that anymore although I could be wrong. That was before he started Doom Patrol/Young Animal.
yeah. I saw some artwork he did for his version of batman. Looked really cool, shame it will be a long time in the future/never that we will get to see it. So hard keeping up with comics too. So many that I want to read. I've been reading so many batman trades recently (currently reading city of owls) and also have a couple of transformers to read (all hail megatron, last of the wreckers) kill or be killed by Ed Brubaker and nailbiter the murder edition vol.1. I am also nearly finished having my batman sleeve finished too.
I've still to get one more villain (scarecrow) also getting a question mark incorporated into the sleeve somewhere as a wee nod to the riddler and above the joker will be the Gotham city skyline and then all remaining space that is left I am just letting my tattoo artist do his own shading etc. He reckons I will just need 2 more sit-ins. I am booked in on the 27th of January to get scarecrow done
Can't wait to see it when it's complete! I've been wanting another lately really bad, to the point that I was tempted to go get something random last night on Friday the 13th just for the hell of it
Borrowed Giant Days Vol. 1, Severed, American Vampire, From Hell and Joker from a friend today. Stoked to read all of those. From Hell is monstrous so that one may take a while.
Severed is sooooo good. If you enjoy that i recommend Wytches if you haven't already read it. Snyder does horror very well.
I do have Wytches but haven't read it. It's actually one my friend ended up borrowing from me haha. So I'm sure she'll enjoy it as well.
I know they would've only been $20 but I just don't have the funds to spend on things like that. Of my 5 I've only had the same artist for 2 of them lol and the last one was 7 years ago. The others I want are pretty major pieces so will be pricey so no telling when/if those actually come to fruition. I've since moved away from college town and my tattoo artist lives elsewhere so really not sure where I'd go around here. I've looked around at several shops online that seem legit but I've just never had the funds to call and make appt and such. On a comics related note I do want a Batman 1/2 sleeve of some sort.
Yeah. Well when you're getting tattoos you do want to know that where you're going to go is genuine etc. Haha, I say thumbs up to a batman half sleeve :) yeah. It does get expensive, I've been really lucky that my tattoo artist has been fantastic with me. Each sit in for me has been no more than £240 and that has done each character. The batman one that I got was just after Christmas and he gave me it for only £180. Was really nice of him. Can't fault him at all
