Love that Detective Comics hasn't forgotten about Bluebird. I've always liked Harper Row, I wish she had caught on more like they intended. Not to the point where she became the new Nightwing, but Bluebird by itself is still a cool role.
Interesting, I didn't know that was what they intended with her. I thought she was a great addition to both Eternal series' and the friendship between her, Cass, and Stephanie is so good now. I hope she brings the costume back sooner rather than later though.
Read Kingdom Come and absolutely loved it. Still hoping to do a podcast on it with Jason and will share it here whenever that happens!
First great Superman tale I ever read, and still among the best. Also loved the preacher's perspective throughout the book and, of course, that Alex Ross art. (If you want more Alex Ross interior art, check out Marvels if you haven't yet.)
I have Marvels saved in my MU library! I wasn't familiar with Alex Ross before this, so I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the art.
Miss this place! Been doing the library thing and read Teen Titans: Earth One by Lemire and holy smokes it was so good! And I picked up the Wake by Snyder and Murphy there too. Haven't had a chance to read it, but the art is gorgeous! Also, I've been writing a script for the Millarworld Annual and it's my first comic book script. Been losing my mind over it haha Such a fun and different writing experience.
yes! Marvels is so good, and Kingdom Come is just magic, I love that book. reread it at least once a year
Still can't believe the horrible shitstorm that Chelsea Cain had to endure. Absolutely ridiculous, but the support for her has been awesome.
Comixology is doing a flash sale for Locke and Key right now so if anyone hasnt read it shame on you now is a good time to jump in with the trades marked down to 6 bucks.
13 Terrifying Modern Horror Comics old list but I know I personally have been looking for some spooky things to read this weekend so figured I'd share
I haven't read Locke & Key, but if I'm buying any comics, it's going to be physical. Are there just six trades? I may throw one on my next order.
They updated this list more recently. 70 of the Best Horror Comics I loooooove Junji Ito when it comes to horror stories.
Yep, just 6. I've got the deluxe slip case with all trades. i buy a lot of digital because the closest comic shop to me is about 2 hours away. i order physical online for some things.
I don't think the topic has been brought up yet, but sure, that's as welcome as any other sort of comic talk! Though, I won't personally have much to add.
The idea of Garfield is so good, and I loved the strip as a kid, but I went back and read it recently and the execution is terrible. I know that Jim Davis handed off the reins early on (dude knew he had the jackpot with Mondays and lasagna) so maybe that has something to do with it, but most of the strips, like, don't have a beginning, middle or end. It was baffling You know it! I can say without exaggeration it is one of my favourite pieces of art ever created
Haha. To be honest, I've only really started recently (aside from the few strips sent my way), because I registered the free amazon prime trial. I'm leaning towards buying a physical copy instead. It's pretty funny and smart and adorable.
