Interesting team. I can't see Emma Frost cooperating with a Storm led team though, haha. Their personalities, leadership styles, and teaching methods would constantly be clashing. But hey, that might actually make for entertaining drama. I strongly considered having Beast and Forge on my team as well. Forge has been a delight in Extraordinary lately, and Beast has become much less of an arrogant douche now that he's been away from the X-men for so long, thank god. And wow, really with Land? I think Uncanny is a great looking book right now. He does great expressive faces IMO, and his figures overall are exactly what I want X-Men to look like. To each his own though. I've never really thought about Gail Simone writing an x-book though. Hm.
Also, Stegman might just be the only artist whose art is fuglier than Ramos'. I mean, he's gotten slightly better on Uncanny Avengers. Those first couple issues were some of the most painful I've ever had to look at. But I still really don't like it. Just a very off-putting style for me.
Comixology also has the new Vision book on sale for $3.99 when it is normally $17.99. I can't stress enough how amazing that book is.
Right!? Check out the trade Amazing Spider-Man The Gauntlet Vol. 5 (Lizard), which contains a pretty dang intense story called "Shed." You could also check out X-Men: With Great Power. I haven't read it yet, so I can't comment on story quality, but it's a team-up between the X-Men and Spider-Man that Bachalo also did. Stegman was unacceptably terrible at the beginning of Uncanny Avengers, some of the worst art I've ever seen published, but he actually essentially apologized for that, lol. He was apparently experimenting with something different, and that something different was apparently being bad at drawing. Thankfully he's back to his normal style, which I'm not crazy about, but it's serviceable. Ha, the clash between Storm and Emma Frost would be awesome and is part of why I included her. Emma Frost was such a bundle of delightful bitterness in Morrison's New X-Men run. I did not know that Forge was in Extraordinary, but that makes me pretty eager to catch up on that series. Greg Land... I just... Ah. He's constantly swiping himself and other artists and models and it's all just so distracting and gross and frustrating. I probably shouldn't show you examples that you might not be able to unsee, but screw it, lol.
I'm enjoying what I've read with Roy Harper and him trying to cope with his addictions, any recs for stories with him that focus on that? I've read all of his team ups with Red Hood and Brightest Day era Titans
Please excuse how the featured image turned out on this (I can't move it), but here's my CAGE! review: CAGE! #1 Review | Comic Book Blog | Talking Comics So stoked on it. Moonshine review will go up tomorrow.
Whoa! Warren Ellis is reviving / curating Wildstorm?!?! DC is really trying to get me to the point where I just direct deposit my paycheck, aren't they?
First two issues of All-Star Batman were a lot of fun. It was weird how different it felt from Snyder's previous run.
NYCC LIVE! DC's Young Animal with Gerard Way there's a live update happening right now all about DC's Young Animal, I'm so stoked on this imprint. wish I could just watch the panel live.
I was interested in All Star Batman because of Snyder but I wasn't really into the first issue. I think part of it was the art. Definitely going to have to give it another shot if Murphy's doing the last five issues. I'm really excited about his own Batman series though.
My hero. As much as I love Sex Criminals, the best part of the whole thing is the editorial section. lol
So in Simone's Birds of Prey is Black Canary a metahuman with her scream or is it like the Arrow show? I don't think I've read an issue that's made that clear.
Cool, thanks, that's what I thought, I faintly remember them calling her a metahuman but the Arrowverse threw me off.
