I want to read the last issue of Vision so badly. What an incredible series that is. It makes me feel like giving the new Batman another try.
Yeah the bait-and-switch was really stupid in that book. One leaving and the other joining were entirely unrelated. Spidey dipping was just confusing and Cable could've just come out of nowhere like he did anyway. And yes haha between this and Champions my faith has been renewed in Marvel team books.
Reviewing CAGE! and Moonshine this week for Talking Comics. Stoked on those and plan on checking out JJ and Cannibal as far as new #1s go.
Speaking of new #1s, I'm really interested in Shade the Changing Girl. I never ready any Shade the Changing Man, and I'm not planning on reading any other Young Animal titles, but the art that's been released so far for the series looks so cool.
Randomly picked up Neonomicon which looks great. I need to get back into horror comics, that was originally what got me into comics but damn DC just took over everything for me.
Finished Volume 1-2 of Nailbiter yesterday/today and god damn is that book great. One of my favorites of all time!
I hate that my comic book store doesn't get the new issues. I think the next trade comes out next month and I've just been dying for it.
I'm also reading the crap out of the Brightest Day era, the only one I haven't been able to find for a decent price being Arrow. I really like International Justice League Generation Lost, Titans, Birds of Prey (still haven't finished Gail's original run so that's screwing me up) and Flash especially. The Brightest Day story itself is also really great (though I still don't like Firestorm, I feel like he/she/multiple-he's-and-she's comes up a lot and I'm just never interested). Every time I see Black Manta I get ridiculous happy, I think that might be Geoff John's best character for me, every time he writes him is just wonderful.
I think Griff is the only one from this universe I've really read anything involving. Do you have any recs?
Honestly I don't know too much about it but I enjoyed the hell out of Grifter and Voodoo N52 books before they were cancelled.
I hate that I constantly rec stuff to you but I read Absolution and Absolution:Rubicon and thought both were great. A little different take on vigilante superheroes. I know a lot of shops wouldn't carry Avatar due to content so it was special order only not sure if that'll be your case as well.
Most of my favorite comics have come from your recs so it's a good thing, haha. Besides Locke and Key, Hack / Slash was my favorite series. (Edit: hell you were the one who told me to read Court of Owls, haha) Looking through their back catalog and there's a lot of horror, looks like something I'd enjoy. A few adaptations of novels I've read too. Absolution looks sweet, I'll check it out.
Speaking of...after I read the books I have checked out from the library, I plan to re-read/read L&K finally! Have you read Revival by Seeley? I have the first like 3 trades but haven't read them but heard great things lol
I'm almost positive that Remender said in an interview somewhere that it wasn't always going to end at issue 10, just that he had other jobs/projects coming up, and that he might one day return to the title or pass it off in the far future.
As much as I loved it, I think it finished very well and it feels like it tells a complete story. I'm not sure where it could have gone from there so I'm happy with it ending and him working on other stuff. His new book looks incredible.
Read the first two volumes of Morning Glories and I love it, huge Lost vibes. Also got really into the first few volumes of Invincible and got through the third volume of Saga which was amazing.
