The half hour of Trump talk with the most generic liberal viewpoint at the start of every NNF is really starting to get annoying. Don’t need to hear about all the “good” Biden did or give any credit to Amy Coney Barrett.

 

I feel like there were times where either Garon or Elliot (can’t remember who) tried to gently nudge Matt and Jimmy out of their fixed Obama-years centrist views or they’d correct them on incorrect details during their rants. I haven’t kept up with every episode lately but I feel like Garon/Elliot have maybe given up and are just letting Matt and Jimmy have their fun grandstanding in their ignorance/out-of-date takes? I agree that it’s a bit cringe and makes listening less enjoyable.

 

They make fun of Garon for being a Bernie bro and not liking Hillary but I think he’s given up trying to push back at all.

 

I don't listen but that sounds 'not funny'.

 

It’s basically 20 minutes an episode of “orange man bad!!!” it sucks

 

Yeah, that makes me not interested in trying NNF lol

 

I wouldn’t recommend NNF to anyone anyways lol. If I hadn’t been listening off and on since like 2012/2013 there’s no way I’d pick it up now. It’s 4 middle aged dudes that I disagree with almost all of their takes on everything. It’s just a comfort show at this point but it might fall out of the rotation at this rate.

 

I saw Rory Scovel a few weeks ago and he talked a lot about politics, but it was in a very funny way. Well, it funny to the majority of the crowd. There were a group of people in the front row who were NOT laughing haha.

 

Yeah I saw him a few months ago and he killed. NNF aren’t telling jokes they’re just complaining like MSNBC libs.

 

NNF is still one of my favorites but I just fast forward through the political shit now. Jimmy is literally incapable of not constantly bringing things back to Trump or Jimmy Dore. It’s frustrating, luckily easy enough to skip through

 

Apologies to anyone who enjoys this show, but this reminds me of when my switch flipped on MBMBAM. I listened kind of obsessively for like a year and then suddenly was like, "Wait a minute...these guys are really funny like 30% of the time and almost unbearably twee the rest of the time" lol

 

I remember the night I was listening to Threedom and the switch flipped and I was like “this show is just three people trying to find the most obnoxious way to constantly interrupt eachother”. I’ve bailed on a lot of podcasts but I still mostly enjoy NNF

 

Lauren sounds like she’d be happy to never do another comedy podcast again while PFT is on auto-pilot doing his outburst laugh every 30 seconds no matter what anyone says. All the while, Scott is there like a little stinker just trying to legitimately annoy the both of them as much as he can. It really is the podcast you get when you bring together three people who don’t have the time or energy to do an additional podcast.

 

This should be a good one

the trailer for the birbiglia special bored me to tears, dude was one of my favorites for a long time but the last few specials just seem like more of the same minus the laughs

 

Is he still mainly doing one man show style narrative sets? He kinda got bogged down with that and it stopped being very interesting.

 

basically, his last one was about aging and health but I think there was some other stuff too

 

I thought his last one was pretty good

 

Yeah, I’ve liked pretty much everything he’s done. He’s a little more for the NPR crowd now, but I have no problems with that.

 

love that film and the silly follow up netflix series they did for it, you could tell they were just having fun with it!
