What’s the deal with Earwolf? I know Scott moved his recording studio to his house.

 

Scott has nothing to do with the company anymore right?

 

Seems like they just want to focus on celebrity podcasts.

CBB and Threedom are still Earwolf podcasts. I assume he’s staying on so he can still get a cut of the ad revenue, while making most of his money on CBB World. But he no longer has stake in the company and records at his home, not the Sirius XM Studio.

 

Earwolf was bought by Stitcher/midroll which was then bought by Sirius XM. Sirius closed down the earwolf studio and moved everything in house. Wiger has commented on Get Played how it is much more of a corporate atmosphere there compared to what he is used to. From what I remember CBB and Threedom are still technically Earwolf shows but Scott owns them and the rights to all his back catalogue of podcasts which all go up on CBB world. I think the main issue was that the more niche podcasts were not seeing any ad revenues despite being the shows that the whole company was built on. I cannot remember the last time I heard an ad on Get Played listening on Google podcasts.

 

Thanks for the explanation. Ten years ago I would listen to a variety of different Earwolf podcasts but nowadays CBB, Threedom, and Doughboys are the only ones I regularly tune into.

 

Howell rules this will be a blast. His Monday night game show streams are a highlight of my week

 

If you have the money or can get a free trial for CBB world it is well worth it. Scott hasn't Seen is a fun listen and some of the CBB spin off shows are hilarious.
