Latest episode of HDTGM (Drop Dead Fred) is wild!!

 

I might have to listen to that. My sister loved that movie growing up and must have watched it 100+ times.

 

One of the best eps they have ever done, IMO. Loved hearing them (esp. June) get so passionate about a movie again.

 

That ep is podcast history. I don’t know how... but it is.

 

Haven’t listened to HDTGM in years but listening to the Drop Down Fred episode based on this thread and right of the bat this is just delirious. So good.

Definitely one of the best eps. By far the most argumentative I’ve heard from them. June destroys. And no, you can enjoy the ep just fine without seeing the movie

 

But you should watch it because it's nuts. Haven't seen it since I was like probably 8 years old and I still occasionally think of it.

Weirdly, I always remembered Fred being played by Martin Short and was surprised when I just looked it up

 

I’d recommend watching DDF before listening to HDTGM to see what it is exactly both sides are SO passionate about.

Watching DDF tonight. Wife and her family watched it all the time as kids, I’ve never seen it

 

I’m only like 10 minutes into this DDF episode and this energy is stressing me out. Does it mellow a bit?

I saw Dan Soder at the Edinburgh Fringe last night. Really enjoyed it.

Booked to see Baby Wants Candy - improv. I thought i would check them out as from UCB which I found had funny improv shows when i was in NY.

 

I don't know if I'm a fan of Heather Anne Campbell on HDTGP. I like her appearances on other podcasts though

I disagree with her about reality TV

 

yeah I generally really like her but her takes on reality TV fucking suck, Vanderpump is the best show

being too cool for something on a podcast about pretty admittedly nerdy shit just felt off to me

 

yeah, I kind of got the feeling that this podcast is not going to last long after this episode

 

I only got around to the first 3 episodes so far and I was also kind of turned off by her attitude in general, maybe part of the reason I haven't been eager to catch up

 

I like her. I disagree with her Journey take adamantly, but I like her.
