Lol whats the TL;DR for the Earwolf subreddit drama

 

as far as I know, they tried to limit the amount of non-earwolf podcast content allowed on the reddit and some people went fuckin' nuts

everything about it is dumb

 

Reddit is dumb

 

I would not survive my job without reddit. I get to read about aliens and skinwalkers and weird party stories all day. But there is also a lot of shitty people on there, just like any other website. I maintain Twitter is a more harmful website in general.

the Earwolf reddit has some truly insane, hyper obsessed fans though...alarmingly so. If Sean and Hayes wanted somebody "taken care of" somebody would do it.

 

Its all about finding the right sub reddit

A few months ago, the mods announced some new rules (start the clock) limiting posts about non-Earwolf shows to take effect in 2019. These proposed rules were not well received. Some people thought it was specifically targeting Doughboys because that’s the only non-Earwolf show that gets posted about regularly enough to fall under the purview of the new rule.

Yesterday, a mod stickied a weirdly condescending post stating that the new rule was in effect and that everybody who complained about it were “non-legitimate users”. The post was locked so no one could comment on it.

Somebody made a post asking why the stickied post was locked but it got deleted by the mods.

Someone made a post asking why the other post was deleted and that post gets deleted too.

Another post is made and this one is allowed to stay up and gets filled with people complaining about the mods.

Mod who made the original locked post about the rule change stickies another bitchy post basically resigning and telling everyone to fuck off.

It’s some of the dumbest pettiest shit I’ve seen in a while. From both sides.

I'm sure I've said it in this thread before but I was listening to his first appearance in the shower and I was laughing so hard when he muttered "I'm immortal" and the subsequent reaction that I nearly fell in the tub.
