My best friend's girlfriend tried multiple times to heckle during Rory Scovel's set last weekend and I still can't get over it.

I've somehow managed to look past the long list of reasons why she's a piece of shit- including cheating on my friend, and cursing at me (in public) for walking slow (I'm disabled)- but this is unforgivable.

I'm so far away from heckling that when someone I know does it I don't even know how to address it haha

 

Did Rory respond to her?

Also, she probably thinks it's her job as an audience member to heckle

 

He echoed her when she spoke up once but he was pretty easy on the crowd luckily. Heckling probably isn't the best word I could have picked either. It's more like she tried to actively participate in a loud and obnoxious way. haha

I got my brother tickets to see Jimmy Carr for xmas and I guess he really wants to heckle him just cuz he has a reputation for having good comebacks, I really hope he doesn’t do it lol

I can't think of anything I'm more afraid of than crowd work,well a lot but I don't like that

 

i pretty much live to be made fun of at this point

 

Oh man, what I miss on Seeso was the Big Jay Oakerson show about crowd work. It was so uncomfortable at times and I would never subject myself to being in that crowd but it was super entertaining to watch how different comics handled the situation.

The guy behind me shouted during a Neil Hamburger set once in 2012 and Neil thought it was me so I got a generic roast flung at me and I'm still recuperating from it.

The only interaction I've really had with a comic onstage was when I was front row for Bo Burnham on the "what" tour and he opened the show with this song and dance number. At one point he pulls out a deck of cards like he's gonna do a trick and flays them out in front of me to pick a card. I pick a card and then he hurls the entire deck at me.

 

I went to see Attell a couple years ago and ended up getting sat at a table right at the stage. Like my foot was resting on it. I definitely had a bit of a pit in my stomach initially. He ended up saying something like I look like someone with a failed podcast and then later asked me about alternative lube options and I sheepishly said something about coconut oil despite not having any personal experience with that (probably just read that somewhere)

I do enjoy getting made fun of by someone who's good at it. But if they're gonna want a response outta me I'm gonna unnecessarily put some mild anxiety-inducing pressure on myself to be semi clever or interesting

It was pretty surreal. I just stood there in awe for a good 20 seconds while my gf died laughing.

 

one time a local comedian pointed to me and my then boyfriend and was like "you two on a date?" then used that to segue into a joke about a date he went on

hot damn, Mulaney has sold out six shows at Radio City with a seventh recently added

 

He sold out 7 at the Chicago Theatre.

I went last Friday and will say it's good.... but not as instantly quotable as his earlier specials. Excited to see how the finished product is.

This might not translate well, but one of the only stand-up bits I'm still proud of doing in college was when I opened by starting a card trick with this frat kid in the audience, had him pick a card, asked him not to look at it, the whole nine yeards. Then I told him to eat it, and when he got confused, I leaned in and whispered into the mic, "Please don't fuck this up for me"
