I at first just read "FUCKKKK John Mulaney" and my cursor instinctively shot directly over to the "Report" button.

Like a super small part of me is like "I can make it work. The show is at 7 and my flight is at 11 so I can make it."

John Mulaney is fantastic live probably my second favorite behind Chris Hardwick

 

I just watched the first of the two new Dave Chappelle specials that came to Netflix today. Holy shit. I'm so happy I still have more to go.

 

Just finished both. I thought Age of Spin was okay, and Deep in the Heart of Texas was really good.

 

I listened to my first episode of Hollywood Handbook the other day and I literally felt like I was having a stroke. Is that show supposed to make sense or??

 

Direct quote from one of the hosts a few months ago: "This show is literal nonsense"

I really wish Netflix got Chappelle's old specials too

Age of Spin was just alright. Lots of semi-problematic material to get through.

 

There is something really odd about seeing Chappelle in HD.

 

Thought Age of Spin was great, didn't laugh nearly as much during Texas; just thought the latter wasn't nearly as clever.

Chappelle's bit about how men are pretending to be trans to avoid violence is one of the more misguided jokes I've seen in a comedy special lately.

He's still a brilliant performer though. Just one of the best ever, and his stuff is structurally note-perfect. Some of his material was incredible. But some of his material... wasn't for me.

 

I'm pretty sleep deprived but I just thought about how funny it would be to hear the Time Keepers reaction to "Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story" from Hamilton. Lots of mention of time in that song

 

Anyone catch the Chappelle specials?
