I should clarify that I don't enjoy when they play that singing Olympics or whatever it's called. Most of the rest of the singing was fine.

 

I always love the singing on With Special Guest, especially Ben and Lauren singing 90s TV theme songs

 

The Garfunkel & Oates special is so fun.

 

Since there's not a ton of backlog yet I would suggest just starting episode one. You don't really need to follow an order but it's easier to get the feel of their chemistry that way. It's always fun to hear how rapidly they give up on topic.

I highly recommend it; The best new podcast of 2016 without a doubt.

 

I do enjoy when they actually talk about a subject but at the same time the episode when they don't get to the topic at hand are just as good. I love Dave'a recipes as well.

I finally watched John Early's episode of The Characters last night. He is so good at creating an unbareably awful character. The dinner party speech scene had me hiding under my blanket laughing because I was so uncomfortable.

Really looking forward to Jim Gaffigan's new Netflix special next week.

 

Instead of the normal cocktails they have at the event, there should just be plates of tuna on every table

I think I'll have to agree with Dave that today's Boogie Monster was the worst episode, but what an entertaining and belligerent trainwreck. Kyle was killing me towards the end. I'm not usually the one to complain about chewing on mic but the begining of this episode was rough.

I really hope at some point they'll actually get back to discussing the topic though, those first few episodes were the perfect mix of comedy and information

 

This may be a controversial opinion in here but I think he's so good at being unlikable in most of his roles that I genuinely kind of don't like him

 

I think CBB finally went behind a paywall. Good thing we had like 3 years of warning so I could download them all to an external hard drive.

 

I can understand that. I'm that way with a few actors. I met Angela from The Office a couple years ago and even seeing her in person I still felt bitter towards her. That's sounds so silly to me now because she was so nice and obviously nothing like her character but I still couldn't help that weird feeling Haha

 

Todd Barry has a book coming out in March.

What other comedians have books? Anybody have a favorite?

 

Moshe Kasher's book is really really good. Micheal Ian Black's was an easy read, Chris Gethards was great, Jim Gaffigans is pretty good.

I'm currently reading Judd Apatow's book but it's really just interviews with other comedians. Still interesting and entertaining. I'm going to start Rob Delaney's book next week when I go on vacation. I started on the first chapter and it was off to such a good start that I wanted to save it.

Is this going to be for new episodes as well or just ones older than 6 months ago? If it's older than six months I can live with that.

 

6 month window of free downloading after that you have to pay for Howl to hear something older than 6 months

 

Ahh okay. I rarely go back to listen old episodes and its usually just for a particular bit. At least there are plenty of clips on YouTube
