I kinda chalked that up to crass irony because I saw some many comics I like (and who are quite popular among this thread) showing praise for M$E. I regret halfway defending him after actually looking into him. I'm still puzzled as to why those people showed him so much support.

edit: I'm unfortunately sucked into the wormhole now. It looks like almost everyone that I followed who previously followed him on twitter has since unfollowed him. I wonder what their breaking point was? Like... did they stick it out until the election and then unfollowed out of anger or did they cut ties before that?

No worries. I thought that's what you meant. I don't know much about him, but every time I've heard his name brought up, it's been in a negative context.

 

I remember seeing so much praise for them when adult swim picked up their show. when I saw someone complaining about it I assumed it was taken out of context because the few clips I could find seemed more silly than intentionally offensive with a message.

 

nah they suck and their show isn't funny. Dude who came in here with a huge message about them being offensive was actually a fan, that's what their fans do

 

I'm all for "offensive" ironic humor, but it seems like the irony isn't always there unfortunately.
