I just binged him with google and I’ve seen him at a few local stand up shows. He’s pretty funny.

oh yeah but doing it in Pittsburgh of all places is very funny, not much opportunity for anything to happen

 

Saw a pretty interesting clip of Maron on Bobby Lee and Andrew Santino's podcast

Bobby Lee: "What do you think the Austin scene's shelf life is gonna be?"

Maron: " I dunno it's so effectively tribalized at this point. It really comes down to material. Whatever they represented in terms of policy, it's like they won. Trans people are frightened, they have no ability to get healthcare anymore, and they are afraid of being alive, and have no freedom left; so that's done, when do you stop with the jokes? So immigrants they're being ripped away from their homes and they're terrified; that's done, when do you stop with the jokes? I mean it's one thing to pick on the vulnerable and the marginalized, but they're down so why do you gotta keep hitting them? Unless you're a hack. Now there's a question. "

It’s funny seeing clips of the new special pop up and all the Rogan nerds commenting “who even is this?? Dude isn’t relevant at all!!” just so wrapped up in their dumb little Texas bubble.

 

When Los Culturistas announced an awards show, I thought “Do we need another awards show?” Did not know it was a full-on parody. Clips I’ve been seeing are hilarious.

 

That's fantastic. Glad Bowen is putting his clout to good use.

 

Does anyone have a download link for the Las Culturistas Awards? It's not in any of my usual places, and I need to watch the full thing.

New/first special from Ian Fidance. Saw him a few months ago and dude was pretty funny.

 

Happy to see that Steph Tolev has a Netflix special. Will definitely watch. Listening to her on YMIW now.

 

I haven’t watched his special yet but all the Maron clips I’ve been seeing lately as he does the rounds have been great

 

He goes off on Mandel (and comedy at large) most of that interview. It rocks.

 

I now suddenly have tickets to see Please Don't Destroy next month after a friend offered. Didn't even know they were still on tour, I hope it's not the same bits from the special

 

I love how much "Stores" focuses on gun culture. Last week's game to determine which stores condone or condemn open carry, and now this week's segment on gun magazines (like Gun Dog lol)

Carl Tart is coming to do improv with a few other SNL people next Friday. Probably gonna go to that.

 

Stavvy official cast in A24's Anthony Bourdain biopic right after it was announced he's gonna be in the new Yorgos flick Bugonia. Damn what a stand up to character actor run.

These Josh Johnson weekly specials are pretty good.

 

Rory Scovel is announcing a fall tour next week

 

Looks like a handful of dates this year but most of them are in 2026.
