My intro to Rory was seeing him on Pete Holmes' old talk show, when they were talking about Rory's bit about the "day moon" and since then, I've been obsessed with him.
That and the old couple choosing burial plots are burned into my brain from that ep, they’re both so good.
There's another very old YT video where he's in a hotel lobby with an elevator and he goes up the elevator and around the balcony on like the 4th floor just messing around. What makes him so great to see live. You just never know. His early appearances on the Todd Glass podcast are so great as well. Todd just sets him up with a premise and he goes on and on and on. There's a running gag where a caller (rory) calls in and they can't hear Todd but they can hear the other people. EDIT: Someone put them all together:
Not indicative of his comedy, but this remains such a creative feat of standup. Makes me miss Conan’s show and that he allowed stuff like this.
After two years on the festival circuit, my "adult swim-flavored" experimental horror/comedy short (think INFOMERCIALS like Too Many Cooks, Mulchtown, Unedited Footage of a Bear) is finally streaming online. There's a line in their that's absolutely a shoutout to Chorus/AbsolutePunk - you'll know it when you hear it!
