attempting to watch all of on cinema from the top. i bet i fail. however, just finished the first oscar special and my god it's amazing how, with enough context and repetition, they can bring me to tears just by showing me a simple still image of an extra from the Hobbit lol. this shit should not work for 15 years but somehow it does
I have no other place to put this but maybe 5-6 years ago, on the Next Door group for Pasadena, someone posted a thread that said “Weird guy messing with my trash cans” and they attached a photo and it was Rob Huebel on a recognizable street in Pasadena pretending to be ‘caught’ messing with some trash cans. Then like an hour later, it was deleted.
Robby says some wild stuff but her ‘character’ helps it go down different than when other standups say edgy/ironically wild stuff.
YESSSS I've been waiting for a new movie from them since the big sick. Only better thing they could do would be bringing back the indoor kids podcast hah
Yeah, it’s basically the former Collegehumor streaming service with a bunch of shows and specials. I believe it’s kind of a co-op service so it’s not ghoulish like your typical streamer. The owner seems pretty cool.
Not everything from Dropout hits for me but they have some really funny/charming folks on their shows. Vic Michaelis, Jacob Wynoski, Brennan Lee Mulligan, Zac Oyama, Josh Ruben are all regulars. PFT, jess McKenna, Ben Schwartz, and Apodaca have all been on their stuff. I watch a lot of Make Some Noise clips. https://youtube.com/shorts/Bj60InmphBE?si=7IQljgPaJX33t84v edit: kind of weird that youtube shorts don't embed like youtube videos, but oh well
yeah, make some noise is pretty exclusively a hit for me, some game changer episodes are great, other than that tho i basically just like the ppl involved and less so the content. the shorts are endlessly reliable tho, for sure
It's an improv show, but Very Important People on dropout is absolutely hilarious. A lot of clips are on instagram to give you a taste. The premise is that they take a comedian and give them a crazy make up / costume that they have no idea about, and then when it's revealed to them, they have to create a character based on the look. After, they go sit down for a 'late night' style interview (always with the same host who has to play the straight man role) and do their best to stay in character and make it funny. It's a little hit or miss, but when it's hit, it's genius.
