DBJ and Luke (of Stores) are on Handbook today.

 

Episode was SO unhinged, it was incredible, haha

 

I finally watched some Kill Tony for the first time. Damn this shit really is horrible.

The only regular on there that is actually pretty funny is Adam Ray

 

Why would you do this willingly lol

 

I was bored and a clip popped up on my feed and I realized I never actually seen it so I figured I should see what it is all about since I hear stuff about it all the time.

 

I watched it once out of curiosity. It really is such a misrepresentation of standup comedy. Tony Hinchcliffe is a top 5 unfunny person.

 

Like i just find it fascinating how a show where a bunch of opening act hacks roast open micers became one of the biggest things in comedy and is selling out Madison square garden. It boggles the mind. Like how did people let this happen?

 

yeah more than ever it's like oh there's a whole other world I'm not involved with regards to comedy podcasts etc lol, like imagine showing one of those guys How Did This Get Made or Comedy Bang Bang

 

The fact that something like Kill Tony takes off here but something like Taskmaster would never have a chance sucks

 

My buddy Sal listens to the Big Jay Oakerson podcasts and will text me about them. I do not care Sal. I don’t listen to them for a reason.

I think I've mentioned that seeing the legion of skanks live without knowing who they were was one of the most perplexing shows, I went to see Dave Atell I wouldn't do that on purpose

 

He's so bad. I feel like the premise for KT could be decent in the right hands but alas...

 

Sarah Sherman just did Stavvy's pod and she said she has been absolutely begging for 8 years to do a set at Gathering of the Juggalos, she finally got it, and now she can't do it because of scheduling. That would have been incredible lol

 

They also bought up that Stavvy as a stand up with podcast is more well off than Sherman who is literally one of the main castmembers of SNL, which relates to our previous conversation.

Or that SNL doesn't pay their performers nearly enough lol

 

I think Pete Davidson said recently they get like 3 grand an episode or something?

 

They also do all that third party advertising now which probably helps.

 

If you take an average of 20 episodes per season, $60k to be a main player in the biggest comedy program on television while living in New York is kind of insane

I have 3 free tickets to Duchovny (improv group) at Bottlerocket in Pittsburgh tonight if anyone wants them. Had to change plans and I’m going tomorrow instead but I can’t refund them, don’t want them to go to waste
