Feel like some of the material isn’t fully finalized so by December may be a bit more polished. His last two bits especially were super long and felt not quite whole. Probably explains the nearly two hour set too. There’s definitely a great 70-80 minute tight set in there.

 

2 hours is just way too long for a set

 

Yeah, i was stunned at how long it went. Especially considering there were a few bits around the 80/90 min mark that i for sure thought would be closers.

 

Anything over an hour starts to feel very long. When I saw Connor O'Malley last year he went close to 90 minutes and while it was really funny, it felt soooo long.

 

I forget how long he was earlier this year. I think it was about 90 minutes. But something like that or PFT’s Varietopia felt shorter because they’re broken up by videos and other tangents. 2 hours of just a standup telling jokes reaches a point of exhaustion.

 

Yeah any comedy show especially stand up 75 minutes should be the max

I've seen a few clips from his special and Callen seems to really be gunning for worst comic at the moment.
