Podcast cringe is so funny because it'll be like "This cool comedian I love completely DESTROYED this podcaster comedian who I also actually usually like"
He’s coming to our comedy club that usually gets the most washed-up comics on the planet. Think I’ll probably go.
Like I said, Stavros is growing on me but like...the one thing that still bugs me is that he is still palling around with all of the comedians he "calls out" here. Like, he's been a guest on Rogan, lol. Idk. He's earning my respect but I'm not totally there yet.
The Blocked Party bonus episode this week is crazy because halfway through they get the Charlie Kirk news.
His description of his dad's politics "Wants everybody to have healthcare, but thinks Hillary Clinton is a lizard person. Loves guns, but hates cops" nailed the medium American non-voter so hard lol
You have fled from Bottlerocket every time our paths have crossed. she was incredible, honestly shocked by how funny that set was

Watched a bit of this as I quite like Stavros, and as a European I had no idea right wing comedy was so big over there. Wild. I’m not particularly aware of most US comedians so it was a big surprise. It basically doesn’t exist over here. Comedy is super left leaning, and the few that have tried to pivot to the right, such as Andrew Lawrence, basically lose their career prospects. Andrew rightly went from appearances on big TV comedy panel shows like Mock The Week to not being able to perform in entire cities because of racist jokes and tweets mocking terror attack victims. Good to see someone calling it out, at least. Particularly someone like Stavros who can still get invited on these kind of shows, because then it bypasses the echo chamber and actually has a chance of making an impact.
