I'm tempted to listen to DLM for Wheeler Walker Jr even though it's terrible anymore.

 

Wheeler was pretty great, and Sarah is always delightful

 

I really hate Pete Holmes, outside of the sketches he made for his show. I listened to his podcast and it just made me angry.

 

I love Pete Holmes and also I totally see how that would happen

I've been a member of the anti-Pete coalition for a number of years in these forums. I don't mind Pete as a person, just as a ruiner of most things.

 

I just hate how he acts as though comedy is a thing unto itself, divorced from class dynamics and he also says that he doesn't know anything about politics. I don't expect him to be political, but he is just fucking ignorant in reality.

 

He is certainly naive/a dope plenty of the time

 

I love his stand up

 

He can be grating and he acts naive about things when he really isn't.

I looked a while back about this exact thing. Profile got created, but he made one post that basically said 'i will not have time to integrate this site into my day-to-day.'

I flip flop on Pete. Sometimes he's delightful, sometimes I just wish he would shut the fuck up

 

Anyone listen to the Everything's Coming Up podcast (a show devoted to classic Simpsons)? I just heard about it today from co-host Julia Prescott who was a guest on this week's Comedy Film Nerds. Just looking at their episode list they've had Dana Gould (who use to work on the show) as a guest as well as Jonah Rey, Matt Mira, Benny Schwa, and Jon Gabrus. I'll probably check it out.

 

I'm pessimistic on Crashing, though I am excited Aparna will have a part on it.

I listen to it, Ben Schwartz episode is great, as are any they have with actual Simpsons writers, both Josh Weinstein episodes are fantastic. Its been a great excuse for me to rewatch episodes they do also.

Summer of 2007, which brought us Knocked Up, Superbad, Hot Rod, and Hot Fuzz

 

Pete Holmes is hilarious, but I 100% understand any complaints about him.
