Been listening to both Stavvy's World and The Adam Friedland Show. Both are better than Cumtown IMO. That breakup seems like it was best for everyone involved.

 

Never listened to cumtown but love Stavvy so I should check out his podcast.

 

I like it. Kind of an extension of the stuff he's been doing on twitch. Kind of like a Loveline-esque sex/relationship advice thing.

 

I have never been a fan of Cumtown and find their fans to be absolutely insufferable dorks online, but the scattered stuff I've seen from Stav and some of Nick's tweets are funny. Whatever that CIA parody twitter video that is going "viral" in the comedy scene from the Adam Friedland Show is so fucking awful though. Painfully unfunny 2008 4chan shit

 

Yeah, a lot of what I've heard from them individually (Stavvy in particular) is funny but I have friends that grasped way too hard onto Cumtown's ironic racism/ableism thing and a lot of that is absolutely grating to me now, especially because much of it (at least in the past) wasn't particularly clever, it was just three white dudes saying stuff they shouldn't but being "in on the joke." Even if they've grown out of that, the way it's given some dorks a pass to do the same shit is really annoying

Cumtown was literally just 3 white dudes calling things gay and tiptoeing around saying the n-word.

That being said, I think all 3 guys are/can be funny. I haven't listened to Adam's show yet but Stavvy's podcast, and particularly his stand up special are quite good.

 

What was the beef? Why did they split off from each other

 

Yeah Stavvy’s special and his clips on instagram are fantastic. I saw him back in September and he was hilarious then too.

 

Mullen is insanely funny and probably the most naturally funny of all three but man there is something deeply deeply wrong with him.

 

I don't think it was a beef but more an amicable split. I think Stavvy was just burnt out and didn't want to be tied down as just being a podcast guy anymore. I think they've implied that they long hated doing Cumtown and only still did it because of the insane amount of Pateron money it made. I think as soon as Stavvy saw an opening where he could make the same money just doing standup and his own thing he went for it.

Hoo boy. I don't know Mulloy, but when I looked him up, Google auto-completed my search as "mike mulloy dave portnoy" which is certainly not a good sign
