Seems like she meant he doesn't currently work for her because they finished writing the next season already but when or if the next season happens I highly doubt she'll invite him back

Wouldn't be surprised at all if the next season is the last though, she's getting more famous by the day

 

David Cross on why his comedy tour pissed off people right and left

Excellent interview with David Cross about his recently-completed tour and new Netflix special, Making America Great Again. Cross is as incredible as ever in it, definitely worth a watch for anyone who hasn't seen it yet. Easily the best comedy special of the year so far.

 

Agreed. That Cross special is great.

 

The Cross special had a kinda weak beginning and end, but everything in between was alright to great.

 

So, I've decided to listen to CBB from the beginning. I'm on ep 30, which is one of the last of 2009, and these are almost all fantastic. The most interesting thing to me is that the character-based format first really showed up on the first Pardo-hosted ep. Also Nick Swardson continues to blow me away with how not funny he is.

 

Is it weird that I love comedy podcasts but never really have any interest in watching/listening to stand up specials?

Only if it's weird that I'm the opposite, well I listen to Paul's and Lauren's but compared to everyone else here I don't listen to any podcasts

This podcast is more for us than anyone else lol, but its fun to get drunk and talk about conspiracies. We just recorded an episode about Atlantis that will drop soon.

I think I'm in the same boat as you. I watch maybe 3-4 stand-up specials a year. Like if a new special premieres on Netflix, I don't go out of my way to watch it unless it's someone I truly love. Yet there are dozens and dozens of comics I can get excited about if they are a guest on CBB, Nerdist, DLM, Sklarbro Country

 

I don't watch stand-up that often unless people rave about one in here, but I listen to podcasts constantly. I love stand-up in person but I don't think it translates well to the screen.

The Cross special fell completely flat for me; the points that Cross would make with his jokes just felt like "college guy who just realized he is now woke."

Time constraints. Podcasts I can throw on while playing a game or working on a project around the house. With standup I'd miss out on visual bits/facial cues.

 

That makes sense. I guess even audio standup requires a little more attention than a podcast.

 

Yea I love stand-up, never said I didn't. I just don't like watching it on TV.

 

Sad to see but understandable. Can't wait for the last ten
