Hope you get a good guest. We got Ego Nwodim when CBB came to Kansas City and she was uncharacteristically bad. The rest was good though.

 

I'd kill for Ego to be on my date. Being that its New York, I'm sure it'll be someone great.

 

CBB is kinda like SNL, some segments are genuinely great, but when you do hours upon hours of content every week for decades, things can get kinda stale. I used to listen weekly, then dipped down to only listening when certain guests were on, nowadays I miiight tune in for the specials/best ofs, but that's about it.

That being said, if they did (another) show here, I'd definitely go, especially if PFT was on the bill.

 

Yeah I listen to the best ofs and maybe 4-5 other episodes a year depending on the guests but when that show is on nothing is funnier. I’d 100% see it if it came here.

 

i guess i should have put a disclaimer that i've only listened to like 3 episodes, haha.

 

Hollywood Handbook and Conan Needs A Friend are my go-to silly podcasts.

 

Is Conan still edited like crazy with all those annoying guitar interludes?

 

A decent amount.

YKS and Blocked Party are still my go-to for turn my brain off comedy podcasts.

 

for whatever reasons that editing just drives me crazy so I never really dug into his podcast. Just listened to a few here and there.

the only ones I keep up with regularly anymore are doughboys, Carl calls his cousin and TFOs. I fell off of never not funny but I’ve been getting back into that. Back in college and a few years afterwards I was up to like 10-12 podcasts a week.

 

Just Actionboyz for me

 

This Is Important (Workaholics guys' pod) is my silly go-to. It helps that I am roughly their age because all their references are in my wheelhouse.

Also wanna plug No Accounting For Taste, Kyle Kinane and Shane Torres' pod about taking maligned topics every week and trying to find the good in them. It's goofy but they also want to leave things feeling positive, even if they initially shit on a topic.

For conan's podcast it's guest-dependent for me. I listened to the Dana Carvey one recently which I thought was great. Same with the Bill Hader live one or Jeff Goldblum, but if I'm not a huge fan of the guest, I actually find the podcast to be not really up my alley.

 

Covid sucked the life out of a ton of shows for me. Plus the Doughboys fans got too annoying

 

yeah leaving the handing hold club on Facebook made my enjoyment of the show go back up. Just insufferable people in there.

 

The boys are having a renaissance, you should come back. Our thread on this site is the only good Doughboys community lol

It's the only podcast I listen to regularly and am a Patron of aside from With Gourley and Rust. That show is like...ultimate turn off your brain and listen to two pleasant, funny people talk about slasher sequels for like two hours.

 

I listened to the Pally/Gabrus one and enjoyed it. I just found that if the guest stunk I would zone out too much. ABZ is relatively consistent because it’s only them, no guest variable

 

Yeah, I get that. They still have an off guest occasionally but as hosts, they're just so good at developing new ongoing bits that it's usually enough to power through. The ridiculousness of the premise and Wiger's shame about it is lightning in a bottle. I recommend the John Early ep!
