I've had a renewed interest in stand-up lately, and it has me thinking about Louis CK. I'm super discouraged to see him selling out shows and to read about the content of his latest hour. He seems to be willfully opposed to expressing genuine remorse for his actions. I mean, he actually seems to be openly mocking with is idiotic "SORRY" sign from the MSG shows.

I'll admit, I'm kind of surprised he didn't lean in more to what he did, truly and deeply acknowledge it, and use it as self-deprecating comedy in his set. I'm not saying by doing that he should be fully embraced, but it really seems like that approach would have actually opened up avenues for forgiveness. I don't doubt that his abuse is a product of his own mental health issues. That doesn't excuse it, but, goddamn, it really saddens me to see how he is continuing with his act.

 

Awesome get. So proud of them.

 

I saw that they were having tony hawk on and I wanted to save for later in the week when I have a long drive for work. So I've been going through the BP episodes I've missed and the one I turned on is Ep. 123 where they'd just gotten a cameo from Tony Hawk where he said he'd like to come on the pod sometime and to see it actually happen is wild.

 

Why isn't he verified?

Don’t blame you. My roommate was watching it. It might be his meanest special. Just an old man yelling at a cloud. Crazy to think this was the same guy I thought was a genius 20 years ago.

Some were funny. Some were NOT.

 

Oh yeah, that's why I said some and not all of them, hahahaha. Some are very questionable

 

Two things:

1. Yusong’s new show is great. Really recommend it.
2. He had Dana Schwartz on today and it blew my fucking mind when I looked up the vitriol she’s received online, because between this and Blank Check she couldn’t seem like a nicer person.

 

Danielle Koenig’s new pod is really good, she has a ton of great, crazy writing staff stories.
