He reminded me of Steven Wright a little, just the one liners, and move on...

  7. Getting into comedy in middle school/high school, I was at the mercy of my older brother, and I had burnt copies of Mitch's three albums and a handful of albums from Henry Rollins, David Cross, and George Carlin. I listened to those same CDs on the way to school so many times that I'm sure I could still recite some of the bits.

I miss Mitch so much. Mike Birbiglia has a good story on him in his book "Sleepwalk With Me" and what an enigma he was.

I remember finding out he died. I think “gorillamask” (lol) had a tribute

I was extremely fortunate and got to see Mitch live twice. Once with Dave Attell and Lewis Black and then a second time with Stephen Lynch. He was visibly not in good shape the second time. Extremely sad. Probably my favorite comic ever.

He was supposed to do a show here in Jersey like less than two weeks before he passed. I was so bummed at the time that I hadn't gotten tickets to it, and then absolutely devastated when the news of his death came out.

My friends saw him in Cleveland a month or so before he died. Said he was in absolute terrible shape, basically covered himself in the curtains and told jokes that way. Really bummed me out hearing that.

I still randomly watch his clips all the time. Hasn’t been anyone like him since. Not even close.

It’s wild that Hannibal Buress used to be promoted as “the black Mitch Hedberg” (something he hated). The only similarity was they both had kind of a laid-back delivery. But yeah, no one’s come close. I assume because part of that is Twitter kind of takes up that space for quasi-one-liner comedians.

So we went to the Seth Myers show last night (at the WIlbur) for his stand up.

HE comes out on stage and announces he has an opening act.... one who needs some help because they aren't used to a crowd like this....

And then introduces - Amy Schumer.

Place goes nuts. She does like 20 minutes maybe.

I wasn't a fan of hers (I just didnt like her raunchiness) but boy... she nailed it. She was very funny. And yeah, she's vulgar (in the same sense like Sarah SIlverman, who I <do> like).

Seth comes out and does an hour plus, and also nails it. Both very funny. A good night, and the 2nd show of the night was not even close to sold out.

I’ve been burning through Globe Hell Warning. it’s so stupid and fun. Nate from The Format and Fun was on an episode too apparently lol it’s so funny that he’s entrenched in that online group.
