Nate Bargatze was the last thing I watched (not counting Bo Burnham). It's great, but that was released a couple months ago.

 

Yeah, loved both of those — was hoping there was something lesser known that I had missed.

 

Same. I usually rely on the "Good Ones" podcast of Best Specials So Far for some of that, but it hasn't come out yet.

 

yeah it's mainly been livestreams versus taped specials recently but it seems like people are getting back into taping specials now that they have audiences

 

The Chris Gethard special was cool.

 

Not sure what's classed as recent, but Rose Matafeo "Horndog" is great. Nish Kumar has released 2 specials as records that are on streaming called "It's In Your Nature To Destroy Yourselves part 1 + 2" which are both fantastic. Then James Acaster did 4 specials for Netflix last year called "Repertoire" which are amazing.

 

The james acaster special is fantastic. Highly recommend carving out time for as much/all of it, if you can.

 

Just bought tickets for Hasan Minaj in November! It’ll be my first time seeing stand up live except at a music festival.

 

I bought Acaster’s book after watching his Taskmaster season recently, haven’t read it yet but I’ve heard good things

 

Which one? "James Acaster's Classic Scrapes" is one of the funniest books I've ever read, but he has one called "Perfect Sound Whatever" which is also great - basically a book about how he thinks 2016 was the best year for music, and he goes through listening to as many albums as possible released in that year. From Ned Flanders themed metal bands to Beyonce, and everything in between. Helps that he has a great taste in music too
