Man, I like Jesse but he's still trying to dunk on the Bo special and it's wading into eyeroll territory

 

He's just being a troll bc the fan's of Inside are so fervent, but I agree, it's getting cringey.

 

I don't know which Jesse we're talking about, but the only one in comedy I recognize is Jesse David Fox of the "Good Ones" podcast because his opinions are good.

Lmao bugging out over Jesse making fun of something you like is so funny. Its okay if people make fun of something. It’s so easy to ignore. The whole reason he’s doing it is because Bo fans are getting so worked up over it. Just scroll past it if you’re bothered by it.

yall are taking a comedy special and a stupid bit about making fun of that comedy special way too seriously!

 

I didn't even like the special that much. I just think he's being a dork about it. Comes across as bitter as hell

 

I think it just sucks that everything becomes discourse now haha, and I agree that generally I wish there was more light non bummer comedy but I don't think Bo was an egregious offender

 

lol I don't think anyone in here is bugging out or getting worked up. I even said I like Jesse. he can make fun of whatever he wants, I'm not "bothered," I just think it's kinda weird and feels try-hard at this point

I also generally like Jesse but it’s definitely coming across as bitterness and/or jealousy at this point lol

 

It kinda has South Park “anyone who tries to be earnest or serious about things deserves to be mocked” energy

 

As easy as it is to ignore people making fun of stuff, it's also just as easy to, y'know, not just make fun of things you don't like. You know, like being an adult.

 

Bo literally has a bit in INSIDE about shutting the fuck up on the internet.

who is mad? I think it's a silly look to build a critique around Bo based off of him having money when your own show pulls in anywhere from 3-15 k a month.

 

Also, Seth Simons retweeted a pretty good critical review of the special that I only got a chance to skim through. Agreed with some of it though. It's okay to make fun of things or not like what other people like, I don't think anyone in here disagrees. I think Bugmane has been doing some of the best critiques of self serious comedy out there, but at least he has an angle to take.

But if your bit is just...posting positive reviews about a show and saying "lol" or whatever, it comes across as salty.

 

Yeah it's weird to be like "You're falling for it!! It's working!!1" when no one is overreacting and everyone is just saying it's kinda dumb lol. It's like setting out to make people mad suddenly creates this weird space where people can't think you're being annoying, because, well, it was your intent or whatever. Idk how fervent Bo fans have been online, but everyone in here seems super rational.
