I saw a tweet making fun of the Bo special where it took a still from the sexting song where all this text is projected onto Bo/the wall and compared it to that stupid smug Instagram guy who spells out dumb messages with balloon letters and I hate that. It actually gave me a chance to read the text, and while it works comedically it's also pretty vulnerable stuff to align yourself with and I don't like that a weird sect of twitter is snarking all over the special. I say this as someone who liked Bo's previous stuff but would not have considered myself a fan and usually feels no need to defend rich dudes from online snark, whether the snark is deserved or not!

 

Sometimes I describe Bo as the king of Vine. Did any of this work on that platform get archived anywhere? I'd like to show people some to further my point

 

The Bo hate is mostly coming from the “we hate things that are popular” crowd for sure, but also part of it is coming from the classic crowd where if you’re sincere or earnest in anything you do they mock you for it.

 

Can't help but think there's some jealousy involved too. A lot of people on twitter are very talented at being bitter and sarcastic and that's about it

 

Bo is still relatively young and broke through at a younger age, so I can imagine there’s lots of jealousy. Reminds me out how Marc Maron admitted to instantly having disdain for younger and good looking comics out of his own insecurity

 

Glad they patched things up. This episode was great...used to have a full version on YT but it appears to have been taken down

 

Bo opening with “as a younger comic I just want to ask … who are you??” Is such a good line but Gary Schandling retorting “it’s so …. Mutual,” was gold. That whole episode is great, probably the best of that short series.

 

Lol I always remember Bo finishing his song and Marc just going "...that's cute." He was being a dick (which he's fully admitted to) but that moment is just so transparent and cracks me up as a fan of both of them.

 

Anyone listen to Carl calls his cousin? Is it just Carl complaining about fans again?
