This remains one of the most impressive stand-up sets I’ve seen on TV.

 

Both of their stuff on Conan was so great.

 

My intro to Rory was back in early 2010s and he always performed in a Southern drawl

 

Didn’t he do an entire set in a German accent?

 

I think he does (or did) that regularly.

also Those Who Can’t is in HBO Max and highly recommend it. Rory is on most episodes. Kind of a less harsh It’s Always Sunny

 

Saw 3 of Rory's sets during a KC run in like 2011. All three were entirely different sets. The first night was so memorable because the crowd was just my friends, me, and a high school class from Texas on their senior trip. He started the show doing crowd work with his german accent but he broke like 5 minutes in when he realized the crowd was 95% teenagers. He goes "just kidding that's not my real voice" but then he did the southern accent (inconsistently) while berating the teacher/ chaperones the entire set. Not a single acknowledgement to his southern accent.

I think he's the funniest person on earth.

 

I haven't seen Rory live yet, but if he ever comes to the comedy club across the street from my apartment, I will 100% buy a ticket to every show he does, if he does multiple times/nights.

I rewatched everything last week. I was cackling so much.

 

I've been thinking about doing a full Bo rewatch too. Just listened to his episode of the "Good One" podcast because it was re-released in anticipation of the new special. It's a great listen discussing the closing bit from Make Happy. It's obviously available as a podcast, but here's the video ep too...
