the craziest shit is if UCB would've just behaved like normal, decent people over the past year they could have asked for donations from comedy fans and probably made enough to fund the theaters and employees for at least a year.

Good riddance, sell the theater space to a company that isn't a bunch of rich assholes exploiting young talent

New special from Tom Segura on Netflix today! It’s called Ball Hog, and if you listen to his podcast you totally get the reference.

 

Finally got around to the Whitmer Thomas special. Definitely see where the Bo Burnham comparisons come from, it reminded me of Make Happy in a way, although a lot less focused on the actual stage performance and more on the story. Super strongly recommend if you like Bo, I think he has a bright future

The album is pretty great too, he's got some real musical talent

 

Oh man, a new Segura special? Had no idea, just what I could use right now.

 

Not my favorite Segura hour but the closing but had me howling.

 

I was really excited for it but the new Segura special fell flat for me. Just not the type of comedy I enjoy honestly, which is weird since I really dig a bunch of his other material.

Not to try and compare the two but I thought Bert's was a lot more in line with my sense of humor. It started off pretty slow with a few chuckles but he consistently got funnier as it went on and I was straight cackling by the end.

 

I'm a huge segura fan, but this was my least favourite special of his. He relied too much on niche YMH phrasing and like 20 minutes seemed like a commentary on his special before. Disappointed, but it did have a couple good stories/jokes.

 

I don't think Segura is funny personally

 

I've really fallen off the YMH podcast, but I enjoy 2 Bears one Cave and whenever he is a guest on something. Not a big fan of any of his standup

 

Completely Normal was straight-up my favorite special in college, but I've definitely drifted further away from that (and Bert's) style of comedy over the past five or so years

 

Liked Bert's a lot more this go 'round
