IFC announced that this week's episode of Maron will also serve as the series finale. Marc seems pretty cool with it.

It's a pretty boring show. I slogged through the first season and a half, then gave up, and then watched the first couple this season because the "relapse and rehab" part was sorta interesting. Then it got super boring again.

 

IFC's pretty cancel happy recently. Garfunkel and Oates, The Birthday Boys, Maron, probably CBB. Pretty much anything that Fred Armisen's not involved with gets the axe.

 

Frankly I'm surprised CBBTV has lasted this long. I remember as the first season was airing, Aukerman said in a DLM episode that he was surprised to learn how few people have the IFC channel. I'm wondering if the show got a boost through Netflix streaming.

 

I haven't really watched since the second? season. Always kind of surprised by the huge episode pickups. I'm still sour about the Birthday Boys cancellation, that second season was soooo good.

 

CBB seems like a pretty cheap show to do, think that helps.

 

I think Maron said recently that he wanted to stop doing the show, so I dunno if it was actually "cancelled" or not.

 

I still can't believe IFC ordered a 40 episode season. And then (presumably) cancelled it the next year.
