Anyone watching Wrecked? I'm surprised how funny it is without knowing anyone involved besides Rhys Darby.

 

I watched some of the first episode and enjoyed it, been meaning to catch more of it. Is Rhys in it a lot? He was the reason I watched, was pleasantly surprised to see Zach from Whitest Kids U Know in it

 

Ah that's where I recognized that guy, and Rhys isn't in it as much as you'd think considering he's the biggest name on the show.

 

Oh shit, I totally thought that was Seann William Scott when I saw the promos

 

I just caught up on Wrecked last night and I really like it! Some cheesy moments for sure but some really really good ones too. The Dvd player episode was great.

 

There were 1-2 months there where I wasn't feeling HH as much (probably starting with the Mike Lawrence ep) but they've been on a real hot streak since their live episode at Vulture fest.

 

Wrecked just got renewed for a 2nd season!

 

Lol Vulture had Paul Scheer recommend some podcasts and this is what he said about Hollywood Handbook:

I'm never the PC police and give comics a lot of leeway, but it was really off-putting that Trey Galyon used "retarded" and "gay" to mean something was stupid within minutes of each other on a DLM a few episodes back.

Besides it being offensive, it's just lazy to do as a comic.

 

I officially deleted DLM from Downcast since I'm pretty sure it's been like 23-years since an episode popped up that I felt motivated to listen to

 

I'm still a fan, although quality has dipped significantly since he stopped doing the free weekly show at UCB and stop playing LMG.

 

Why'd he stop playing the LMG? I've stopped listening.

 

Because the app is no longer being updated. I feel like he could and should still break it out once in a while. There's no competitiveness anymore especially when he always picks a theme for the games and it's easy to figure out before actually playing.

 

Oh man I'm only like 10 minutes into Carvey on CBB and I can already tell I'm going to appreciate him so much more after this. He is a fucking genius my word

did anyone actually get the I4H live-stream to work yesterday? it was super choppy and cut off right in the beginning.

 

Agreed, but I feel like he's finally started to introduce some new interesting games again. LMS is just not compelling to listen to, imo.

I do like pretty much all the new games, but I feel like he undermines their potential when he does a stupid gimmick with them like just makes the answers movies the panel has been in or people from a new movie, because once you figure that out there's no game. I feel like he underestimates a lot of the guests and is tired of explaining things. LMG is still the best because it takes skill and strategy and is really fun to listen to and play along with. The app still works and there are thousands and thousands of movies to choose from so he could still do it, it's just not being updated with new ones.

 

LMG should definitely be brought back even if just once in a while, or for the tournaments (which I haven't heard anything about in a while) - I really like "Adjusted For Inflation Bureau", Who's Tagline and the IMDB game, and I don't mind that he tries to put a "theme" on the games, but it should be a little less obvious. When he does movies that the panelists are in, it can be fun, but after the first round or two, the gag is up and it gets painfully obvious/unfunny.

 

I love the inflation game, best one in a while.
