Thanks for posting this. I haven't listened to YMIW in so long that my app stopped updating it. This was a great episode

Their discussion about Tom's success on Netflix was really interesting. They're right that the timing was fortuitous, but there's one other major factor: Segura's specials are excellent, and so many of the hours simply are not. There's so many comedians who don't need to be releasing full hours yet.

really enjoying some of these older WSG eps

 

does anyone have any recs for best/fave episodes of improv4humans?

 

I'm not a regular listener, but I was EXTREMELY satisfied with this being the first episode I heard (watched)

 

The fat crackers series with Gabrus, Betsy, Eugene and Stephane Allyne from a few years back is so good

 

You guys can get on board with Jason Segal now and it won't be a crazy commitment. There's only like a dozen episodes so far and they're all around 30-45 minutes.

 

The youtube eps got me into it, the one posted with Gemberling especially. Jess Mckenna, Jon Gabrus, and Eugene Cordero just did a trilogy of episodes that was pretty great. Any episode with the Wild Horses is top notch, they did one recently. There's also a Wild Horses V Big Grande. The 420 episodes are great if you want to listen to a bunch of super high comedians do improv.

Ep 229 with PFT and Drew Tarver is great. 226 a live episode with James Adomian. 216 (and 135) you got Zouks, St Clair, and Parham,

There's also some really cool music episodes like The Family Crest, Austin Lucas, Murder By Death, Laura Stevenson, Radical Face, Lydia Loveless, Jenny Owen Youngs, Dawes, Frank Turner...

I tend to like the Live episodes more, really though you can just choose your guests and jump around.

Also I didn't mention any eps with Ian Roberts but he's one of my favorite guests, him and Matt work perfect together.

The first two 4/20 episodes of i4h are insane and great. Also the episode with David Bazan. But you can’t go wrong with any of the episodes in the first few years of its run, it was insanely consistent

 

Anyone else excited for the new Chapelle specials?

 

I dunno if I'm excited. Cautiously optimistic, maybe.

 

Yeah I'm looking forward to the good jokes and observations, and dreading the hot takes and sexism/transphobia

 

I'm only on episode 5, but Dr. Gameshow is so good. I love Manolo.

I started Do you know who Jason Segal is? at work today and fucking died in the third episode when the bed bath and beyond lady asked if Leonardo DiCaprio was the guy who was fighting George Forman

 

Almost all the way caught up with Jason Segel, episode 8 is by far my favorite.

 

Not sure anything beats Jim and Charlie Manson playing farm games

 

Thoroughly enjoyed the new Chappelle, the second one seemed really off the cuff and introspective it was pretty cool.
