Trying to get into Adventure Zone. As someone who has never played D&D, when does the show become enjoyable? I'm midway through the first ep and it's pleasant but I'm a little lost

 

I tried to get into Adventure Zone too, but having no experience with D&D outside of the Harmonquest TV show, I was a little lost too. I still have another 300 episodes of MBMBAM backlog to catch up on anyway so I'll just stick to that for now.

 

honestly outside of checking out a quick D&D tutorial vid, i'm not sure. what terms and parts do you get hung up on?

the main thing is, say they're looking to jump over a gulch or something, the DM will say "roll athletics" or something similar. the players roll a 20 sided die, their roll is modified by any skill points they may have, and then that final number is matched against a secret number the DM has set as a "difficulty level" of sorts. if they beat that number, they succeed. if not, they fail.

all of this applies to the combat, too. so if they say "i rolled a 9" and lose, it's because the monsters defense is higher than the attackers roll. this stuff won't be cleared up too much because if it were the players could deduce the bare minimum needed more quickly.

 

just play D&D, it's fun

 

yeah that too. i ran a game online with chorus folks who had never played for a bit before it fell apart and even that was a blast.

Not sure how I feel seeing TJ's response on Instagram and noticing the Sklar Brothers liked it.

 

I was always like how can his wife be married to him,her being complicit was the missing puzzle piece

 

My only real (and admittedly minor) exposure to them is early Comedy Death Ray eps but they did not come off as progressive, overly moral people.

 

He also sent threatening to another critic basically saying he should be killed. What a sick asshole.

 

A lot of Doug loves movies guests have been accused of not being good people this year.

TJ Miller has always rubbed me the wrong way and I've always thought he definitely had some screws loose. What a piece of shit he is.
