I haven't been a fan of Louis in a while. This is really unsettling.

I said something similar in the news post but this is the first one of these where I'm actually a huge fan of the artist's work, and it's really fucking disappointing. Not quite sure what else to say

 

I hope Pamela Adlon takes over Better Things and it's not just straight up canceled

Hope Louis' statement isn't lauded or accepted too much. He could have said all of that back when he was asked about these allegations, multiple times, instead of dismissing them as rumors and refusing to engage. But once his livelihood was legitimately threatened, then he could publicly hold himself accountable. What a fucking scumbag.

 

That statement is nothing short of "gross".

I don't understand why Louis (or his team) would think that this is a good statement to put out. Why not just continue to stay silent? It's super shitty all around, but I feel like putting a statement out like this now, only after the fact, just makes it look worse. I dunno... I just feel like pick a story and stick to it. If you're truly remorseful, then be remorseful, but if you are gonna plead the 5th, then plead the 5th.

I thought it was a good statement. there was no way he would be able to continue to remain silent. He admitted guilt, and admitted that he ran from the allegations.

I don't think that this makes him any less gross, but it's a gross situation that needed to addressed by him in some way.

 

I think staying silent would be just as bad. The statement would probably be better if he didn’t constantly say these women admired him. I don’t know. The whole situation is fucked.

 

i agree that the amount he talks about admiration the women had for him should have been left out. The statement could have been much much worse though

 

I just think that he should have addressed this originally when Jen or Tig or Roseanne or whoever made accusations and he was blatantly asked about it. He chose to keep it hidden because he didn't think he would get caught. Now that he's caught he trying to play damage control.
