Can we get an over/under on how many more scandals will surface before the end of the year? It’s gotta be at least 4-5.

Yeah, there are going to be a ton of people exposed. And I'm betting every single celebrity is thinking long and hard about their past.

There’s going to be a lot of comedians I really enjoy coming out saying they heard rumors and should have done something and are sorry as if that makes it okay.

Please correct me if I'm missing something but I feel like there are better people to focus your anger at right now than Aziz Ansari. You really can't expect someone like that to stand up to someone as powerful as CK. If Aziz worked closely with CK that would be different but shaming a random comedian for refusing to comment on what was just a rumor at the time is crazy to me.

Avoiding commenting when asked directly, while certainly his right, is not a great look. Plenty of female comedians spoke out about him, with far less of Aziz’s clout.

Unless Aziz heard about it directly from one of the victims or somehow had firsthand knowledge of an incident, it would be borderline irresponsible for him to start throwing accusations around in a random interview

When you’re asked directly about the potential that an influential and abusive predator is harassing and abusing women in your sphere, and you stay out of it, you’ve failed the women around you. He didn’t have to condemn Louis. He could have acknowledged the realities of sexual assault and identified the ways in which he has witnessed the culture’s misogyny and abuse. He didn’t. I love Aziz. I love Master of None. I have no trouble believing he’s a decent dude with a good heart. But men staying silent and letting women bear the brunt of this climate is why it gets this far. He is not the only one who stood on the sidelines playing it safe while women were harassed and assaulted.

If we knew the context of the interview there'd be a slightly better argument but to expect anyone and everyone in the comedy world to make a statement on something like this at any given moment is just absurd. This is just lashing out for the sake of lashing out.

There are much bigger people in the industry that knew about this not only refused to comment but enabled this behavior. Pointing our sites on every actor/comedian who didn't comment won't do much of anything to stop this behavior.

Let me be clear, I’m not singling Aziz out. This is on men in comedy as a whole. But when plenty of women in comedy have used their voices and risked their careers to call out Louis, while men who surely weren’t far removed from the rumors and allegations uniformly did nothing, is not adequate.

Sure, I can concede that. But I think in the context of the question being asked specifically about CK, even if Aziz didn’t condemn Louis, a blanket indictment of the industry is going to read like an indictment of Louis, especially in the context-less void of the internet, and I can understand Aziz not wanting to throw that stone. “Come at the king, you best not miss”, etc, etc

Regardless, I hope now in this post-Weinstein era nobody, man or woman, is afraid to call this shit out anymore.

I'm reading Amy Poehler's book right now, and it's bizarre to read about all the admiration she has for him in the context of the things coming out.

Edit: Also is it this site or my phone that will randomly leave out words recently?

The hoarder story Gilbert Gottfried tells on You Made It Weird is fucking horrifying. Jesus Christ.

  25. I was wondering whether we'd hear anything from Maron or not. He just tweeted that he's going to address it on his podcast. Definitely the right move, but I couldn't help but feel bad about people tweeting at him demanding a statement, like, immediately. I dropped one of my best friends for being an abuser last year and I still haven't processed all of those feelings. Then again, the rumors have been around for a while, so...it's tough.
