I remember Netflix saying they were going to release a new standup special every week for all of 2017, but I haven't noticed or been able to find anything online about anything for August (or the rest of the year for that matter)

Anyone know what's dropped recently (aside from Joe Mande) or what's coming soon?

Writing's been on the wall for Seeso's death for a while now, not a shock. I hope Bajillion finds a home quickly.

I paid for it and it still had ads, and they are the most obnoxious, intrusive, frequent, poorly placed ads I've encountered in my life. Stay away.

 

weird. So what's even the point of paying for it?

 

I'm not sure. I guess Seeso and Shudder are under different ad rules, because they're "a la carte". I found many others having the issue as well

 

and they wonder why piracy is so attractive

 

interesting. I'm watching MBMBAM right now with a free and there aren't any commercials so they're probably still working to get everything situated.


This show is incredibly funny by the way. I enjoy the episodes of the podcast I've heard but holy smokes the TV show really brings it home. Hopefully someone else picks it up so the keep making more.

 

The MBMBAM TV show was my introduction to the show. I immediately went back and started the podcast from episode 1. No regrets.

The TV show is seriously the best new show of the year.

Everyone should take advantage of the opportunity to watch it for free without ads while you can.

 

I think I got into the McElboys through Monster Factory first, then casually tried out MBMBAM but it didn't stick because I was busy and it didn't top other podcasts I prioritized, but then I got into Car Boys and Touch the Skyrim and I saw the McElroys had a DnD podcast with their dad and as a DnD fan I thought that'd be fun and since then I've never looked back. Love the MBMBAM podcast, love the MBMBAM TV show, watched Griffin's Peacecraft and Pokémon videos, the Adventure Zone is maybe my favorite thing, I'm so glad those boys are a presence in my life. They're a gift.

 

Relistening to the first Nicole Byer HH ep and wanted to transcribe a classic and insightful monologue from Sean:

"I... lately I've been able to be seeing during the real news-- the main news-- that what they're doing showing me is not always exactly how I think is what I'm doing like in my mind and with the politics AND with the news. But the funny news is doing so much of what it is that I'm thinking really with my personal mind.. that I am sort of going, "well isn't this funny news really.. uh.. the main news now?" for me and for a lot of Americans like me."
