This HH is one of my favorites ever. This lil Gabrus-related two parter last week and today has been wonderful.

 

Probly just put on any movie with someone in SWAT gear as the thumbnail, then he should lie down and eventually just fall asleep

So I watched Neal Brennan's '3 Mics'...I didn't know anything about Neal other than he was a writing partner with Chappelle, but I've never seen his stand-up or anything and really, had no clue about him.

I'd say the concept was interesting but I wasn't in love with it. Obviously, it was extremely unique with the emotional aspect to it, I mean, you never see that. But the reason you never see it is, because it's kind of strange and somewhat uncomfortable (even a little cringe-worthy). The first time he went to that mic, I was like 'what the hell is going on?' and the entire special lost all momentum for me. When he went to the one-liners and stand-up mics, it picked back up but in the back of my head I was like 'he's going to go back to that emotional mic again' and just knowing that was kind of ruining it for me. Honestly, the stories were interesting - and I'm sure it may even help a lot of people - but to me, a stand-up comedy special isn't the time or place for that.
