I wish I could listen to music all day at work, but I’m off today for spring recess so you know I’m jammin records all day
Ok, @Kennedy, if Deathwish Records is hyping the Mount Eerie album, then I really have to check it out. Mount Eerie "Now Only"
For anyone interested: My Epic reviews, music, news - sputnikmusic Gives you similar bands so you have an idea what they sound like
To hype and largely go ignored here: the new Zeke album "Hellbender". RIYL: Motorhead influenced hardcore, soundtracks to benders involving whiskey and cocaine, Discharge I guess.
That’s up my alley, but I agree. I like subtlety in lyricism. My distaste for most worship music is how on the nose and needlessly repetitive it is. My Epic can veer into the “too on the nose” territory.
This new ep definitely isnt well actually their last 2 aren't. I'd say their early records yes, their most recent stuff well the last 2 eps especially no.
I vote for this thread to be a rec thread of sorts not only for new releases but for stuff in general since the recommendations thread on here is not very active at all. With that being said next week is pretty stacked for new releases. I'm sure I'm missing many but off the top of my head new 30STM not super excited for that one but i'll prob still check it out. Underoath, The Wonder Years and new Eels album The Deconstruction.
This is the 4th place I'm posting this, but I really like it and think more people should check it out, so I don't really care: This came out last Friday, post-rock from the UK with some metal influence. I checked it out just because I thought the album cover was awesome and am really enjoying it, reminds me in some ways of Caspian and Moving Mountains. Coldbones – Where It All Began The vinyl for this looks sweet too, but only available from the UK as far as I can tell: Coldbones - Where It All Began Vinyl
Against Me, punk, hardcore with some indie rock elements thrown in. They have a lot more melody than most punk bands so it makes them easily accessible.
